Honestly…If they had made a more functional user interface/search parameters since they went to mde…it would have probably limited the problem they have now to a certain degree…

But they don’t think proactively and wonder why they get grief for years afterward…

Anything to book thousands of empty tables 👍🏻
Of course you would find a way to make this negative.

You do know that just because a table is empty doesn't mean it's available, right? Disney doesn't run most table service at 100% capacity. Why? Beats me. Seems insane. But you can't just look in a window and see empty tables and go 'Disney going broke!!!!1111!!!' because it might just mean that empty table wasn't available to book.

And you're going to say 'well why don't they book all of them'? I have no idea. But guests can't book what's not available.

And of course…you 50% missed the joke and 50% misunderstand the business assessment.

Shocking

Nobody said they’re going broke. Only between your ears

And Empty tables due to lack of staffing and/or demand is a business fail on about a dozen Levels.

…back to the weeds😉, yo

Empty tables happen because
  • Not enough employees to cover them
  • Guests that eat and leave faster than anticipated
  • Leaving tables empty to absorb the overflow that happens when guests take longer than expected
  • To be able to absorb a certain number of walk-ins
  • Star Fleet commands it

It is GONE ALREADY. No longer there.
I can still search multiple days, which is different than last time I made ADRs several months ago, but the little green dots on the calendar showing the available days feature seems to be gone, probably just as well since when I tested it out & clicked on the green dot for dinner at an unavailable restaurant to try a different supposedly available day it showed me breakfast times w/ no dinner openings & that really irritated me 😆.

Follow this flow chart

Dining plan

Change from priority seating (excellent) to reservations (the opposite of excellent)

Give away dining plan

Increase menu prices to make dining plan look like “a steal”
Increase price of dining plan
(Repeat those last two moves bout 15 times)

Cancel dining plan due to Mad cow outbreak…cause why not stick it to em?

Bring back dining plan…nobody cares/noticed

=

Pathetically small demand than they’ve ever really had considering economics.

Now there are some of the factors that are weighing on it. The paid lines and weird Swedish FOMO effect is definitely Changing dining dynamics…

But…wait for it…the primary reason is costs and bad strategic planning.

Many here know better than to act as if they can’t follow the history. Some are just angry like Skywalker there…

I should have specified that leaving them as open as they do is the thing that shocks me. Most table service restaurants will run around 80% capacity, WDW seems to run around 50-60%. DLR is higher but still not 80%+

No? You say quite often how the company is failing. Or did you miss the 'joke' that I was making fun of your gimmick?

Clearly your post wasn't a 'joke', unless you're confessing that all of your 'content' is a joke, in which case, I'd definitely agree.
