While not unique, I'm fortunate enough to have visited the Anaheim parks for many years and am extremely familiar with them. Prior to moving to FL in late 2022, I had only visited WDW twice. First in 2005 for a good, long visit (9 days in the parks and two at Universal Orlando).
Back then, the Magic Express was still running, so we had the fully immersive experience of entering the magic almost right off the plane. Visited all the theme parks and one water park the first time. The second visit was in 2015. Again, visiting both WDW and Universal (and experiencing the Harry Potter spaces for the first time).
Where am I going with this? I tend to compare the east coast vs west coast parks. A handful of attractions are duplicated on both coasts and what I've found regarding the Disney parks is that every duplicated attraction is better at DL (BTMR, Space Mtn, Haunted Mansion (mainly because of the holiday overlay). TSM (called Toy Story Midway Mania at DCA because of its location on the boardwalk/pier area) is a wash. Astro Blasters (DL) is better than the Buzz Lightyear (WDW), mainly because the lasers are on cords that you fire free-hand which gives you better ability to aim and access to more targets. Space Mtn at DL has music, better cars, and multiple overlays throughout the year. BTMR at DL has really fun FX at the end of the ride (I believe this is coming to WDW with the current ride refurb). Small World at DL has the amazing facade where they have for years been projecting animation onto it during different holidays. At MK, the ride is tucked into line with other attractions and the entryway is utterly unremarkable. The rides themselves are virtually the same but I don't think they are incorporating Disney characters at WDW, but I may have missed/overlooked that.
The ride queue for POTC is better at WDW, but the ride itself is different (and more interesting/better) at DL because of the Blue Bayou entry area and additional drops. Otherwise, that ride's a wash too, IMO.
At Universal, they have the same issue in Cali as Disney does, limited space. Consequently, the HP area in Orlando is totally amazing and the one in SoCal is kind of "meh." I haven't been to Universal Orlando since 2015 and am overdue for a visit, especially since Epic Universe opened.
I have a stronger emotional connection to the Anaheim Disney parks because my kids more or less grew up there and we have gobs and gobs of memories there. WDW is a different animal and has different appeal for me. Even though I now live about 75 minutes' drive, I like to come and spend the night on-property because I love the immersion.
I have my positive and negative opinions on how Disney is managing the parks, pricing, "plussing," and all of that, but overall, I think the magic is still very much alive and am grateful for the CMs who are largely responsible for that. Thanks for reading and I know this doesn't really conform to what the OP was looking for in responses. LOL!
