Cars shouldn't take itself too seriously either, which I don't think it will. The name Piston Peak is already enough to convince me they won't.

I think all the concept renderings I’ve seen have shown an outdoor attraction…?
Also, I thought I saw way back in the thread that the new ride tech for this is already quite far along…?
And another thought I just had is, if this was to become an indoor attraction, where would they need to put it to hide the huge ride building…?

After my first visit today to DL and being in awe of their maximization of limited space, their actually competent LL system, as well as adequate capacity and flow (which enables the multi-LL system to exist. Can’t be feasible with the Orlando parks pithy capacity. I’m sure the execs are weeping over this self created, anti guest problem they can monetize )

The decision to remove RoA for yet *another* replacement rather than pure expansion, is virtually indefensible. It boggles my mind that there are some tripping over themselves to rationalize WDW give away their biggest advantage over Cali and abject failure to significantly improve capacity

Carsland in person is jaw dropping... The scale, the layers of design and story telling... One of the best theme park lands they have ever built...

So, I guess, once again, WDW gets a smaller but somewhat different (and possibly less impactful) version of something great that DL has?

Maybe, just maybe, if all of these people that haven't ever been, or haven't been in a long time, are flooding over to TSI/ROA "for one last time", had been making regular visits there for years, we wouldn't have to see it being removed.

Will have to see the final product - I think potential for Piston Peak to be beautiful and the flowing water, etc can be really nice ... BUT will definitely be different and won't be a "world" we know so won't have that same impact of stepping into something you saw (and potentially loved) on screen

The moment the lights come on each night in Cars Land at DCA is amazing, but part of the "feel" it gives you is you have known about and seen Flo's for years ... So that aspect won't happen in WDW - but could also provide some serene elements, will have to see

Based purely on scale... WDW's car's ride/area will be smaller on the sqft scale... but you can almost fit RSR into the current park:

So it seems... If they had chosen an appropriate location for the attraction to be set in....something from the film... It is the same thing they did with SWL...a location that matches northing from the films.... I would rather have a clone of the complete Disneyland version than any other off-model variation....
and of course, all the water features etc on the cartoon map will most likely be scaled back or disappear before it gets through budgeting... lol

That’s the trick here (and why I think this is somewhat of a less than optimal use of space). It’s difficult to give it the full RSR treatment (especially when a large portion of the ride is supposed to accentuate natural beauty, which inherently takes up space), while at the same time not eating in too much to the space set aside for VL.

I do wonder though if they will try to pull the DL Subs/Autopia trick to maximize this space. Basically have the indoor show scenes at the ground level and have the outdoor section build on top of it.

Disney might not be calling it cars land... its going to have 1 E ticket and 1 C ticket and take up ~3.7 acers.
Compare that to some of the "lands" at DHS and people are just going to refer it to cars land...

We use non-official terms for lands, rides, attractions, and areas all the time on these forms.

But by saying Cars Land, you are automatically comparing it the actual Cars Land at DCA.

Disney does that by populating this area with multiple Cars attractions. Honestly, probably even a single attraction would do that because Disney has set their own standard for Cars attractions with the land in DCA.

“Cars Land” likely invites an unfavorable comparison to the DCA counterpart. I get Disney would not want to adapt that naming convention for WDW for a multitude of reasons. But:

1) A new IP themed area that includes 2 attractions, shopping, and a possible dining experience fits within the expectation of a land

2) The technical name for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is SWGE - but no one calls it that, it’s functionally “Star Wars Land.” (Ditto “Pandora - The World of Avatar” is “Avatar” or “Avatar Land”)

I feel like this complaint doesn't really match the reality nearly as often as it's said to? WDW has/had the bigger and better Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, very likely Pandora, Jungle Cruise, and plenty of attractions that are essentially on par if not the same: Haunted Mansion, Galaxy's Edge, Toy Story Midway Mania, Big Thunder (now that we're getting the new effects), MMRR (better queue at DL), Little Mermaid (better queue at WDW).

I don't even know why we're comparing Cars rides when they're not even trying to be anywhere near the same thing. It's like comparing Matterhorn to Expedition Everest.
