I wonder if they will tell us anything else about Starlight or just let everything else be a surprise? There are a few things we don’t know like what the Peter Pan and Frozen float will fully look like, performer costumes, music wise I think what they showed was the opening music rather than the main song. @wdwmagic also said they haven’t yet revealed the old school element he talked about awhile back, assuming it was cut.

Nothing wrong with them saving things for a surprise. Of course the problem is, like TT, any previews will lead to a ton of spoilers all over before opening night.

The Walt Disney World Vacation Planning Videos from the 1990s and Promotional photos lied to me!

Too bad they never released a full video of the parade from that view.

I also remember in the A Day At The Magic Kingdom video there was an announcer that said Ladies And Gentlemen The Magic Kingdom Proudly Presents Walt Disney Worlds SpectroMagic! I don’t know if that was a real in park announcement at one point or strictly for that video?

They announced parades just like they do fireworks.

On this magic night,
a million stars will play besides us!
Cast a spell of light,
glimmering, shimmering, caroseling…

Round the world tonight,
A symphony in Spectromagic!
Pure Enchantment lights our way!

Jiminy: Welcome to the splendor, the spectacle, the sparkling sensation, where the romance, the comedy and the thrill of Disney fantasies come to electric life.

[Thunder Crash followed by a snippet of Bald Mountain as the lights go out]

And now, the Magic Kingdom proudly presents, in a million points of musical light, the magic worlds of Disney...in SpectroMagic!

[Fanfare repeat]

Let us hope Starlight has as good of an opening narration.

There was nothing else like the way that boomed on main street, I remember sitting on the curb as a kid literally feeling the surround sound.

That’s what I thought. I didn’t know if they once did a special promotion version of Spectro or if the announcement in The day at Magic Kingdom was specifically for the video and it never happened in the park.
He's video of "A Day at the Magic Kingdom" VHS tape from 1991 which showcased Spectromagic during its inaugural year. The VHS used a different announcer which can be heard at 21:08 mark of the video.

The preshow announcements (especially the 10 Minute Announcement) for Spectromagic heard across the Magic Kingdom deserves more appreciation. The 10/5 minute preshow announcements for the parade really anticipated the parade's arrival.

The 10 Minute Announcement is my personal favorite where Jiminy gave guests a preview of the parade's floats. The best part was after he said "The magic starts in 10 minutes". It concluded with an opera variation of "When You Wish Upon a Star" which echoed across the park which gave me chills to this day (especially when you hear it in person).

I also love how Jiminy Cricket mentioned how "Somehow Disney fantasy seems a little more alive at night. It was Walt's favorite time of the park". It's little things like that which made the evening experience at MK extra special.

If there's one thing I worry about with this parade it's the number of performers. After recently watching a festival fantasy performance I'm scared they're going to cut back on yet aspect. FoF is such an embarrassment, really hope Starlight has a full big cast. Also really hope FoF eventually gets it's full cast back, I think people seeing the comparisons of both parades in the same should hopefully push them to bring it back.

How do you know what has been cut from a parade no one has seen yet?

If there are four dance troupes, were there at one time a dozen of them and they were cut down to four? How would we know?

I'm more worried about Starlight not having smaller floats for certain sections of the parade. MSEP had snails, turtles, fireflies, and a caterpillar for the Alice in Wonderland section and Mr Smee's Boat that moved behind or near Captain Hook's ship. Spectromagic had whirly balls and two fish that interacted with guests during the Little Mermaid section while a group of fish lead the Ariel unit.

Even Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights actually modernized the Alice in Wonderland bugs where they were made much bigger. This time the bugs (specifically Mr Snail and Mrs Snail and a Ladybug) were able to move their eyes and blink at guests.

Small floats made Disney's previous electrical parades not feel short as a result.

A major reason PTN felt empty compared to previous electrical parades is that the entire parade consisted on a single unit for each Disney/Pixar film making the gaps more noticeable. The only small floats was Donald, Goofy, and Minnie riding on large balls but that was only saved for the finale (plus it moved slower compared to MSEP and Spectromagic).

No I'm saying I hope they don't cut back on the amount of performers like they have with festival of fantasy. Festival fantasy used to have something like 60 performers before the pandemic but now it has a vastly lower number.
