ah, i took her post that with the RFID there would be no chance at re-fills.

TBH i don't think i have ever eaten at a non-sit down restaurant at WDW that had free refills with paper cups like that.

You get free refills at Backlot Express too. Oh, and the restaurant in Pandora and Regal Eagle. Maybe there are more. I dunno.

well the design may be taken from wood carvings, but I am sure these will not actually be wood at all...I thought initially the Carousel was going to have a Coco theme, but now it just seems like something ese entirely... I guess just "tropical Americas" themed wood carvings carousel....

About the carousel, I heard that the animal characters will be woodcarvings made from a local villager. This story makes it make more sense than before at least.

This was confirmed at D23 last year:

That would just not be feasible....They would have to be super durable...probably cast in Aluminum and then hand painted to look like wood...

I missed these details when it got announced. I actually like the style they're going with this.

My favorite part is how Kevin is not 100% on model, it gives it so much more character and makes it look more like a real wooden carousel and less like a plastic 3D model like Jessie's carousel at DCA

As stated, the land itself is actually not IP. The attractions are.

I have no issue with the carousel being IP, some of the most iconic Disney spinners are as well (Dumbo and Teacups)

I would just have preferred the carousel be entirely themed to Coco / alebrijes

But I have made peace with that, and I'm at least excited for the wood carving approach they took, and I'm sure it'll look beautiful when it's done

Bring back the days of no screens. Just run across the park to get a piece of paper that will tell you to come back later and do that all day long!

I preferred the Magic Bands days, and booking your favorites from home before you even went on your trip.

Change of topic. I really hope they do something special with this land at night. I could really see them doing interesting projection mapping on the Indy and Encanto buildings. I also really want a drone show and more just to get AK open at night, I've never gotten to experience Pandora at that time

We don't always agree, but I am 100% with you on this one. The paper fastpass era was by far the best way to handle skip the line in my opinion.

I think the best approach is to do away with it entirely and just build really well themed queues that people won’t get bored in for everything

I think it’s more like if they were in the same ride, especially if any Encanto elements are on the carousel. Regardless, how does the woodcarver whose village has an Encanto ride or a house or whatever it is know all of these Disney characters?
