Sadly there currently isn't room for that... and not sure at this point how much space there will be after adding in a new esplanade to bring guests back to Auto parts mountain and Villains land... Looks like a pretty substantial walkway...and then the Road Rallye and it's secondary attraction eating up that space as well.

None of the Cars stuff eats into the HM grounds. There could very easily be queue alteration, re-routing, or expansion using land west of the facade.

That's looking west, not east. 😐
I said... Use your imagination. It's also not a rocket taking off either, but you don't have to acknowledge that! To enhance your vacation, it is looking East and it is a rocket. It's a two-fer. Rocket and Mansion what more could anyone ask for. I witnessed two launches from that area. One was while in the parking lot at Denny's on 192 and the other while riding the tram from the TTC parking lot. No one will question it, because who brings a compass to Disney World.

Haunted Mansion Entrance Gets New Cobblestone-Style Concrete at Magic Kingdom

Disney is refreshing the pavement at the Haunted Mansion entrance at Magic Kingdom with new stamped concrete. The updated surface features a cobblestone-style appearance and the attraction remains open to guests during the project.

Sure this isn’t actual stone? If this is stamped concrete then the work is impeccable.

seems weird they would do this when they are about to tear up the entire area and i would hope redo the entire HM que area caus eits terrible lol
I doubt the queue will be altered for years if at all. This section won’t be affected by the Cars construction, and I can’t imagine they’d bother messing with it until Villains is significantly closer and/or already open, assuming they want to do it in the first place. I fully expect they’ll just isolate the current canopy with some trees to the south and west of it, at least in the short term.

The interactive queue should have never been built.
I would agree with that... The silly queue kind of spoil the "aura of foreboding" atmosphere they were trying to create....
When the River is gone there will be space for the bypass...but sadly that Queue will probably stay for a very long time. I imagine they would want to keep some tree buffer around the show building...

These types of projects are handled by FAM (Facility Asset Management) who is not formally aware of projects in early development. They will be given official notice closer to when a project has been approved to move forward which is also close to when it will be announced to the public. Even if a new development will undo their work, there are often years between and the reason for the work still exists.

Quoting myself with updated pics.

There are two stretching rooms. If my memory serves correctly the room to the right of the fireplace in the entry has the brightly illuminated hanging corpse while the lighting in the room to the left is so dim that it is easy to think the corpse has been removed.

The lighting in that room has been bad for nearly a year. My most recent visit was less than a month ago and I experienced both stretching rooms at least twice during my stay.

The left side lighting is brighter but corpse can be seen on right side too.

I don't think they were attempting to create an "aura of foreboding" at all. What they were trying to do, in my mind, is give the standby folks something to keep them amused and not start throwing objects that the Fastpass line people. There really is nothing foreboding at all about HM. To me it is just the opposite. The entire ride has some creepy music but all the visuals are set up comically as is the queue. The best I can call the HM is sometimes spooky, but mostly cartoonish. Damn good ride but I don't think anyone has died from fear because of the interior.
