Trip Report 2 Weeks, 3 Resorts, 12 People - A (Hopefully) Live Trip Report!

Hello everyone! You may remember me from my spontaneous spring break trip back in March. Well, I'm back again! And this time for much longer... two weeks!

For those of you who don't know me, I'm PUSH! I'm a teacher from Wisconsin. I just completed my 8th year teaching first grade, and I'm ready for a vacation. This school year was by far the toughest of my career, for many different reasons, so I'm ready to be back in the Disney bubble. I've been so busy with the end of the school year, that I didn't even think about starting a TR until today... and we fly out tomorrow morning!

As I type this, I still am unsure what this TR will look like. That really makes you want to keep reading, doesn't it?? 😂 I'm planning on posting live from my trip... I just don't know how much. If I post a lot and go pretty in-depth, I won't post a ton when I get back. However, if I don't post much while I'm down there, I'll do more when I get back. Regardless, I'll post in some capacity. We'll just go with the flow (which is NOT how I treat a Disney trip... I'm such a planner).

Here's a few details to start off... The first week is just my dad and me. We fly out of Madison tomorrow morning, and we should land at MCO early to mid afternoon. The second week, we'll be joined by a whole slew of people, who you can see listed below. The past few years, my dad and I have gone down ahead. We're the biggest Disney nerds, and we like the extended trips, whereas others get tired of it after about a week.

We are staying at 3 resorts, with 10 park days, 1 water park day, and 1 After Hours event. All the other details will come as we go. :)

📅 When: June 7-June 21st
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Who: Me, my parents, my brother, my SIL, my aunt & uncle, my cousin & her husband & their kid (1.5 years old), and my other cousin & her boyfriend
🌏 Where: 2 nights at Pop Century, 5 nights at Coronado Springs in the Gran Destino Tower, 7 nights at Riverside
❓ Why: Why not? 🤷‍♂️

Sit back, keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the thread, and enjoy whatever this trip report becomes!

Okay, so you know about the drama with the car. Hopefully we'll get that taken care of tomorrow. Let's focus on the rest of the day that was good!

We did early entry at Epcot and did standby for Guardians right away. Such a fun ride! We got Disco Inferno, which is one of them I like. I like the songs with and upbeat tempo... I feel like they fit the ride better.

Then we walked back to Frozem because it said a 25 minute wait. But by the time we got there, the non-resort guests had beat us and bumped the time up to 35. The line was backed outside. We didn't want to wait that long, so we went to use our LL for Spaceship Earth instead. We didnt need it, as it was a walk on. The lights came on during the descent for some reason.

Then we booked another LL for Soarin and used it right away. It saved us maybe a couple minutes. Then we used our LL for Living with the Land. Again... didn't need it.

Wait times have been very manageable so far. It's normally not like this. Much less busy than March!

After our journey of discovery and awareness, we were hungry. Especially me. Sunshine Seasons had just switched to lunch, so I got the pepperoni pizza roll. I really like those. Again, my taste buds aren't very sophisticated. I enjoy the simple things. My dad got the chicken stir fry and liked it. I'd give mine a 4/5.

After lunch, we walked back to the World Showcase. We looked around the shops in Canada and the UK, then used our LL for Ratatouille. This time, we saved a while!

We continued doing some exploring and window shopping around the other countries. When we gotnto Japan, I got the rainbow shaved ice. I used to get it often as a kid, but haven't had it in probably 10 years. So for nostalgia sake, I got it. Still simple and delicious! Very refreshing on a hot day. We went and sat at the table for the QS in Japan while I ate it. And we also got to listen to the drummers! I like that little area. Very quiet and off the beaten path.

We continued making our way around the lagoon, then stopped to watch the film in China. It's again been probably 10-15 years since we've seen it.

We stopped at the Gran Fiesta Tour, then Club Cool before heading back to our hotel. Well, so we thought. You guys know what actually happened.

Im the afternoon, we went to Magic Kingdom. Once we got there, we went right to our LL for Jungle Cruise. A family was pretty obnoxious next to us and multiple people kept putting their hands in the water. Our skipper had to stop the boat a couple times to tell them to stop. He was getting frustrated with it, and rightfully so. Stupid guests are the worst.

After the ride we were hungry. We were going to do Pecos Bill, but decided on Cosmic Rays instead since it was near our next LL, Space.

I finally got the Disney chicken strips. I've been telling my dad for days how surprised I am that I haven't gotten them yet. I love them. Disney does chicken strips right. We got to listen to Sonny Eclipse while we ate.

After supper we used our LL for Space, then rode the Peoplemover. Then we headed back to Adventureland for our Pirates LL and then our Haunted Mansion LL. There were more oblivious guests in the HM LL line. A woman stopped in her ECV in the middle of the line before the scanners, so nobody could get in. She wasn't looking for anything. She was literally just sitting there. Finally she got going and then her and her family took forever to scan in. Then the woman had to get pictures of all of her (presumably) grandchildren in front of HM, right at the scanners, holding up the entire line. Luckily my dad and I squeezed past her before she did that. Again, I hate stupid guests! The kids in their group were also running everywhere and getting into other parties. The adults didn't try to stop them.

Another weird thing... a couple two buggies ahead found sunglasses in their buggy and turned it into a CM as they were loading. Then I found a lost pair of sunglasses during the ride in our buggy and turned them in at the end. Not super interesting, but something that never happens to me.

After HM, we snagged the LL for Tiana! Woohoo! We were gonna do standby to see it at night anyway. Some good luck after a lot of bad luck earlier in the day.

We waited to use the LL until it got darker, so we did Country Bears. Our group was into it, which makes it that much more fun. And the new Bears are fun, too. They keep their personalities, but are more modern and draw in more people.

We then took a break. I got a Mickey ice cream sandwich, and my dad got a Coke. Then we rode the Magic Carpets. It's not a must do, but I like the view.

Then it was time for Tiana. Cool to see it at night, but the story is still awful. If you can even call that a story. Such a disappointment when the previous ride was one of the top 3 at WDW. There's no problem. There's no conflict. They literally say they want to find a band, then immediately find them.

We then hiked over to ride Tron at night. We did standby, and it said 55 minutes and changed to 80 shortly after we got in line. However, it was moving fast, so we stayed. It took about 36 minutes. We got in line right at the start of the fireworks. We'll, the normal start time. They were delayed, assuming due to lightning nearby.

Tron is 1000% better at night. It was my first time not riding it early in the morning. Also my first time without a virtual queue. The beginning and outside part is amazing. Riding it at night is the way to go, and Im much higher on the attraction after tonight.

When we got off, the park was closed. We waited for crowds to die down a bit. I took tons of photos around the castle, which you'll see some of. That's a fantastic time to get castle pics!

Then we left and are now back for our last night at Coronado. Tomorrow we will check into Riverside and try to exchange our rental car. Before that, we'll probably go to the outlet mall and look at the character warehouse. Once at the airport we'll pick up the rest of our family who'll fly in in the afternoon. We have Beaches and Cream for supper.

This morning we slept in. Once we woke up, we got ready and packed up our room. We drove over to Riverside and checked in. They had us assigned to the rooms we requested, but they weren't ready yet. That was to be expected since it was only about 9:45.

With the extra time, we walked around the resort, then drove to French Quarter to look around a bit. While at FQ, I got a celebration button for my mom, as she just retired from teaching a week ago.

We headed back to Riverside and I got a Sorcerer Mickey stuffed animal to pin the button to as a gift. We checked out with a CM who helped us with our shipment debacle in March, if you read that TR and remember. She said she remembered us when I mentioned it.

Then we ate lunch at the Riverside Mill (the food court). I just got the kids chicken strips because I wasn't super hungry. It was right at 11, when they switch over to lunch, so they were fresh along with the fries. Yum! You can't go wrong with Disney chicken strips.

Then we got in the car and went to the Vineland Premium Outlets. And let me say, going there around noon on a Saturday is a bad idea. Crazy busy trying to find parking!

Once we got in, we had a little wait for the Character Warehouse. We didn’t find anything there. There were a couple Helly Hansen jackets I liked, but didn't like how they fit. So we left the store empty handed.

We went to Under Armour, and I snagged some great deals on t-shirts, and got a couple pairs of shorts, too.

We went to Nike, and I got some athletic shorts and some long athletic pants. I've seen the same ones online for $50 (shorts) and $70-80 (pants), and got them for about half off! I'd been eyeing them anyway, but here I got to try them on, which is something I miss now that so much has gone online.

We then drove to MCO to swap our car and pick up our crew. We swapped out our car without much fanfare. We got $70 deducted from our charge for the inconvenience. Then I asked who was paying the extra tolls we had to deal with, so they gave us $10 more off. Still not worth the hassle, but I wasn't expecting much more honestly. I'm surprised they didn't try to blame us.

We then met up with our crew, and it was perfect timing. Right when we walked in the doors, they were walking down the hall. They saved about $30 on a Lyft, too.

We got back to Riverside and my brother and SIL checked in. We picked up our bags from bell services, since we had left them there in the morning. My mom, brother, and SIL got some food while my dad and I took the bags to the rooms. I set up the Sorcerer Mickey on my mom's bed to surprise her.

We went back down to pick them up. My mom came in the room and didn't notice the Mickey at all. She looked at it about 3 times, and my dad and I were laughing. The laughing made her look around until she saw it.

We unpacked and eventually headed out to Beach Club to eat at Beaches and Cream.

We checked in, and eventually got seated. I got the grilled cheese and subbed my tomato soup for onion rings. It was good, not great. 3/5 for the entree. I think I liked the one at Woody's Lunchbox better.

For dessert I was debating the brownie mudslide or a milkshake. I went for the milkshake. The sundae looked too big and heavy after the meal. And I loved my milkshake. I got cookies and cream. It was delicious! I drank the whole thing, and I was so full afterwards. My stomach was bulging.

I also love the ambiance of that restaurant. It's so fun when they bring out a Kitchen Sink. I love when everyone yells, "a whole can?!" Such a fun atmosphere.

We left and looked at the gift shop, then headed back to POR. My dad and I walked down and watched Yee Haa Bob for a little bit.

Now we're getting ready for bed. Tomorrow's plans: MK in the morning. Epcot in the evening.

Good night all!
