Trip Report 2 Weeks, 3 Resorts, 12 People - A (Hopefully) Live Trip Report!

Hello everyone! You may remember me from my spontaneous spring break trip back in March. Well, I'm back again! And this time for much longer... two weeks!

For those of you who don't know me, I'm PUSH! I'm a teacher from Wisconsin. I just completed my 8th year teaching first grade, and I'm ready for a vacation. This school year was by far the toughest of my career, for many different reasons, so I'm ready to be back in the Disney bubble. I've been so busy with the end of the school year, that I didn't even think about starting a TR until today... and we fly out tomorrow morning!

As I type this, I still am unsure what this TR will look like. That really makes you want to keep reading, doesn't it?? 😂 I'm planning on posting live from my trip... I just don't know how much. If I post a lot and go pretty in-depth, I won't post a ton when I get back. However, if I don't post much while I'm down there, I'll do more when I get back. Regardless, I'll post in some capacity. We'll just go with the flow (which is NOT how I treat a Disney trip... I'm such a planner).

Here's a few details to start off... The first week is just my dad and me. We fly out of Madison tomorrow morning, and we should land at MCO early to mid afternoon. The second week, we'll be joined by a whole slew of people, who you can see listed below. The past few years, my dad and I have gone down ahead. We're the biggest Disney nerds, and we like the extended trips, whereas others get tired of it after about a week.

We are staying at 3 resorts, with 10 park days, 1 water park day, and 1 After Hours event. All the other details will come as we go. :)

📅 When: June 7-June 21st
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Who: Me, my parents, my brother, my SIL, my aunt & uncle, my cousin & her husband & their kid (1.5 years old), and my other cousin & her boyfriend
🌏 Where: 2 nights at Pop Century, 5 nights at Coronado Springs in the Gran Destino Tower, 7 nights at Riverside
❓ Why: Why not? 🤷‍♂️

Sit back, keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the thread, and enjoy whatever this trip report becomes!

This morning we did early entry at Animal Kingdom. We rope dropped Na'vi River Journey and walked right on. Afterwards, we hiked across the park for Dinosaur. I still think a dinosaur theme should be a part of AK, just not the sad land they previously built. I'm glad they're making Tropical Americas, but a dino theme could be done so well.

After Dinosaur, we walked on Expedition Everest twice, back to back. We got row 9 each time, which was weird. I love Everest. It's underrated as one of the best rides at Disney, IMO.

After Everest, we did standby for the Safari. After only walk ons so far, this was our first wait at around 30 minutes, but it was posted at 35. This safari was great if you like giraffes, but not so great if you like elephants. The giraffes were everywhere, and we only saw one elephant. But overall, it was a great safari!

We then got a donut from Joffrey's and split it. Afterwards, we went back to do Dinosaur again since it was posted as a 5 minute wait. Then we rode Kali, where I got decently wet.

We walked the Maharajah Trek, but there was hardly anything going on. We saw one tiger, barely poking out behind some bamboo as it slept.

We then got popcorn as a snack, walked through some shops, and went back to Pandora to use our LL for Flight of Passage.

Once off, we drove back to Coronado to have lunch. I got just a side of garlic knots, since they're big enough for a whole meal.

Now we're in our room about to take a nap.

Tonight's plans are Epcot and San Angel Inn!

We headed out for Epcot sometime in the 3:00 hour. When we got there, we were going to ride Spaceship Earth, but it was being evacuated. So we headed for Nemo instead. After the ride, we looked at the manatees and around the aquarium. I miss the dolphins, but I'm glad they've finally filled their tank in again. It definitely feels like a full aquarium again.

Once we left, we saw Spaceship Earth was back up, so we headed back down. Next we rode the Gran Fiesta Tour. While I was in line, I noticed we were behind someone I recognized from somewhere. Then it dawned on me that I thought it was a YouTuber I had seen a few times several years ago. Then his wife said his name, and it guaranteed it for me. I looked him up, and it was definitely him. He has nothing to do with Disney, but it said he had 2 million subscribers.

After the ride it was time for our dinner reservation at San Angel Inn. We requested a table on the water and got it.

We ordered the Totopos for an appetizer. We really liked the chips. But how can you go wrong there? We each got the Blood Orange margarita and liked that. My dad got something with chicken and liked his entree. I got the shaved ribeye tacos and was very disappointed. The meat was plain, there were too many onions, and it said there would be cheese, and I saw and tasted no cheese. And it wasn't very warm. I think if I hadn't gotten that entree, I would have been happier. But $35 for those tacos was definitely not worth it. However, everything else was excellent, including the view. All in all, I probably won't be back for a long time.

After supper, it was raining, and would continue the rest or the night. We hadn't thought about checking the weather, so we left our rain jackets in the room.

We looked around at Creations and stopped by Club Cool, then used our LL for Guardians. It's such a good ride. 5 stars.

After Guardians, we trekked through the rain the The Land, where we rode Soarin' and Living with the Land.

Upon getting off, we again trekked through the rain to use the LL we got transferred from when Rock n Roll was down, and we used it on Ratatouille. We got off, and got right back on in standby. I have never ridden Ratatouille using stablndby, so I wanted to see the queue. Pretty neat!

It was 8 minutes to close, and we headed for the exit. Before leaving we took one more ride on Spaceship Earth.

Now we're back at our hotel, ready for bed.

Tomorrow a friend of mine is visiting during the day. He lives about an hour away. Not quite sure what we'll do yet. At night, once he leaves, we have the Hollywood Studios After Hours.

After we left Pop, we drove to Coronado to check in. While we were waiting for our room, we went to Typhoon Lagoon. We pretty much did the lazy river, walked around, got donuts, and left. My dad isn't a big water slide/ride person. I'm sure I would have done more if I was there with other people, but it was still something we've never done!

We then headed back to Coronado and sat by the pool for a few minutes before getting the text that our room was ready. So we got our luggage and got into our room.

I took a shower to get all the chlorine off, then we headed offside to a CVS to get a couple supplies.

We stopped at Disney Springs on the way back for a little bit. I got anshirt at Ron Jon and will maybe get some shorts there later in the trip.

Now we've just been hanging out at the resort, and we're sitting in the Barcelona Lounge. In a little bit we're going to try Rix Sports Bar.
Will you see Yahoo Bob this trip

My friend got here around 10:15. We decided to eat at Primo Piatto at the Riviera, so we drove to DHS and took the Skyliner over. I got the croque monsieur, which I've had before. It's delicious, so I couldn't pass it up! 5/5 for the meal.

Once we were done, we were going to go to Disney Springs and boat over for beignets. However, we must have missed a turn and ended up at MK. So we decided to ride the monorail to Epcot and back, then do the monorail around the resort. We only stopped at Poly, then decided to head back to our resort.

From there, my friend and I went to the pool. We each got a frozen drink, since it was so hot. I got the lava flow. 4/5 on the drink. The strawberry daiquiri was better than the pina colada half.

We then socialized in the pool for a while, before it started raining. However, we were already in a pool, so we stayed. At least until they had lightning within 15 miles. Then we had to get out. We mever heard or saw any lightning or heard thunder.

We showed my friend some other things at the resort, then waited for Three Bridges to open at 4:30. We got some appetizers and drinks. We got the white question dip and the roasted corn dip. Both were delicious. My friend and I each got the sangria flight. Again, delicious. 5/5 experience there, and we definitely would go to try their entrees, since we weren't able to this time.

On the way back to our room, my friend and I stopped to play bean bags. He won 21-20. It was a really close game.

Then he headed out back for his home.

My dad and I are off to the Hollywood Studios After Hours in a bit!
