I think I can compare it to Tokyo’s Tangled ride — it could be slightly larger and have more animatronics. The red area is part of the queue and loading zones, while the blue area is the maintenance zone. I know it might feel short, but keep in mind that a third of the attraction is a single outdoor scene, which could be equivalent to 2 or 3 indoor scenes.

it inherently makes sense to make it two levels, the attraction boats could go underground to reach the show building and come back the same way so there’s no long Indy type walk. Not sure how realistic it is but they can make it two levels like they did with POTC if they really wanted to.

I'm also very curious how long DCA's Coco, DAK's Encanto and DLP's Lion King rides will beMy biggest question for Coco is still one of scale: is this gonna be Tokyo's Tangled? Frozen? HK or Paris Frozen? Na'vi river journey? Sinbad?? (plz lord) Based on the facade in the new concept art, how large of an experience does it imply to you all? I'm hoping for a solid D+
I'm definitely a believer that "Design is the beauty of turning constraints into advantages" (Aza Raskin) with HM and Pirates as some of the best examples, as others have mentioned. This location certainly presents an opportunity for some very creative problem solving.

I also think it's potentially notable that this is presented as "Casa Museo de la Familia" which implies that the house is being used to present artifacts or objects. Given Coco's strong emphasis on music I wonder if we'll see a loose echo of the Mystic Manor premise: magic music makes museum move! and that somehow leads to us getting on a boat
Yes I absolutely love how Disney has turned constraints into fun, unique and iconic parts of Disneyland. From the drops on Pirates, the stretching room in HM to Indy's queue. Coco would be a great way to under promise and over deliver at DCA. Just how the understated POTC facade is your starting point for an adventure of epic scope/scale. However, I'm slightly less optimistic after seeing the latest artwork and hearing some rumors about the project. According to FB, the only building they are demoing backstage for Coco is the parade warehouse and not those other two buildings. If true, that leads me to believe we're getting something with more of a C ticket scale with E ticket tech and effects. I'm thinking the nods to POTC/ Mansion have more to do with the theme, effects and just the fact that it's a boat ride and not the scale. I mean it's possible they can design the attraction to be two levels to beef it up. I'll probably initially be disappointed if its not a solid D with at least one drop and then just eventually be happy DCA has a family boat ride at all. I think when you consider the IP and the fact that it's being designed/ built simultaneously with an Avengers and Avatar ride that Coco might just be a C ticket. At least in scale.
I don’t need it to be as large as pirates, but I definitely need it to feel more substantial than Navi or Tangled. It’s going to get huge waits.
I can't recall the source at this point, but I feel like I heard somewhere along the way this project began life as replacement for Epcot's Gran Fiesta Tour. That attraction may serve as a good basis for comparison.

The entire Mexico Pavilion is 63k sqft, and its a square building, which we know isn't all used for the ride. But if we say that is the max. Depending on how they configure the building, and assuming they don't go two stories....I guess my question would be is there enough room for Gran Fiesta building back there? Particularly if they are on it getting rid of the parade warehouse building and not the other two.

So you could push it and get between 55k-60k sqft of usable space, so yeah its theoretically possible to fit the entire Mexico Pavilion in that space which includes the Gran Fiesta Tour.
I personally hope its longer than that as GFT is only 7 minutes or something.
What are you talking about they just updated it for the 70th.You think this has any chance of being longer than 7 minutes? That’s a best case scenario IMO.
They have my approval to use the TSMM building if they need it to make Coco a E ticket. Does the park need two shooters? They never update it and the screens have been dim for about a decade now.

Anyways, if they use the majority of the space for show building I 100% think its possible to be longer than 7 minutes. I mean minus the outside portion the show building for SW is about the same size as the entire Mexico Pavilion, and again only a portion of that is for Gran Fiesta, so yes its doable. Will they, that remains to be seen, but given its likely to be the only major representation of Coco in terms of a ride in DCA it has a good shot in my opinion.
Lol yeah I didn’t even think those 70th logos were worth mentioning.
Well I guess the Frozen and Tangled ride would be good comps. How long are those?

FEA is like 5 mins, and I think Tangled is also about 5 mins, Frozen in Tokyo is like 7 mins.
