Life's like a movie, write your own ending.

Keep believing, keep pretending, we've done what we've set out to do.

For the lovers...

The dreamers...

And you!

Rest easy Muppet-Vision 3D. I'll miss you.

Saying goodbye
Going away
Seems like goodbye's such a hard thing to say
Touching a hand
Wondering why
It's time for saying goodbye

Saying goodbye
Why is it sad?
Makes us remember the good times we've had
Much more to say
Foolish to try
It's time for saying goodbye

Don't want to leave
But we both know
Sometimes it's better to go
Somehow I know we'll meet again
Not sure quite where
And I don't know just when

You're in my heart
So until then
Wanna smile
Wanna cry
Saying goodbye
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
It's time for saying goodbye.

Goodbye old friend.

Very large crowd of Fans just finished singing ‘Rainbow Connection’ in front of the Attraction.
Really emotional moment there.

Then, someone shouted out ‘Thank you, JIM!’….a cheer goes up, and then….crowd starts chanting loudly ‘Jim! Jim! Jim!’

Wow….
Nice moment.

Good thing the theatre seats have the new moisture proof vinyl coverings.
Going to be plenty of tears shed in the next hour.

As Kermit the Frog once said, life is made up of meetings and partings.

Though this attraction may be gone, the spirit of creativity from the combination of the original muppet team, and second generation imagineering at the height of its power, as the joy and emotion and memories Jim’s final masterpiece has created for so many will live on forever.

So long Muppet-Vision. Thanks for everything, old friend.

It was a pretty good run, for a couple of cheap 3-D tricks.

It was my favorite existing Disney World attraction. Now it joins World of Motion and Journey into Imagination and Horizons.

I’m quite sad.

None of this is necessary. None of it.
MV3D is more despicable in my eyes.

There's no replacement announced.

The construction will largely be in the back of the land.

Why close, at least this early in construction? Why close at all?

I mean there is somewhat a replacement announced, we know it’s a monsters themed show, just not what it’s about. I really hope it’s good though. It will have major shoes to fill. (Still holding out hope for sunset showcase because tbh it does feel like Disney has been listening to some feedback subtly)

Will also just say, no reason to close such a beloved attraction this early. IMO they should have given it the year out like most of these other big rides got

Wanna know what I honestly think?

Because it makes monstropolis a themed land.

“Monsterpolis land at DHS” probably sounds more appeasing to some management than just the coaster and the restaurant on its own.

I know I’m being cynical af here, but idk.

“It’s a celebration of MuppetVision, but mostly Jim Henson” tonight…

Tonight is extremely bittersweet, as let us all remember that Jim Henson wanted Disney to carry on his legacy and the Muppet characters long after he was gone.
It was the reason he considered and eventually sold the rights to this large part of his life’s work.
He entrusted Disney at the time to carry that torch into the future.

Tonight, that torch is being snuffed out…as far as Park Experiences go.
Sorry, a roller coaster overlay doesn’t cut it.
Jim and his work deserve better.

The Rock 'n Rollercoaster reskin says so much about how the higher ups view their IP.

Muppet Vision, setting aside anything about being Henson's last work, gives times for a bunch of these characters to shine. You like Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Sam, Rizzo, Honeydew, Beaker, Scooter, Sweetums, or Bean? All of them get time to show their personalities and let you enjoy them. Some more than others, admittedly, but there's a whole twenty five minutes or so to share.

The characters are comedy characters, they're supposed to have time to talk and set up jokes.

A rollercoaster is not going to have that time. Especially not Rock 'n Rollercoaster, which we know has no show scenes. They need to try and cram whatever they can into the preshow, which, unless they alter it a lot, might be a couple minutes long. There's no time to work with. Even if the poster didn't already indicate a bunch of those characters aren't involved, even Henson would struggle with that.

But to the people making these decisions, none of that matters. They don't think you need time to enjoy the characters, they don't know why anyone enjoys them. They expect you to just see them and be happy, like a small child who claps when he sees Mickey on his blanket because he recognizes that.

It is not a worthy replacement, at all, and it's a great example that they don't understand the stuff they own and are trying to make money off of.

That said, if you ask me, Muppets is going to the rollercoaster because a. People will ride any rollercoaster regardless of theme, and b. It lets them do it cheap without really retheming it, potentially with a dash of not needing to worry about conduct of the musicians depending on if they actually include real musicians. Not because they feel it's a good replacement or a good compromise or because they feel it'll be good in general.

I will miss Muppet*Vision 3D. I am glad I got to go down to see it a few times this year. Got to share it with some friends, got to introduce it to my kids

We don't often get 34 years for something we love and am thankful for that. It went out proudly today (and shout-out to the Cast Members who appear to have done an amazing job).

While new things will come (and I hope they are amazing), we will always will have the memories. Thanks for the memories
