Close in January, re-open in August or September is my guess. The only significant work they really gotta do is make alterations to the queue, pre-show, and loading platform. The ride itself’s scenic elements are so simple I don’t think it’ll take long to do. Most of this will be getting everything before the ride changed over.

Only other could could be updates to the ride vehicles (assume at least will get a fresh coat of paint) and the exit gift shop.

And recording all the new audio, though some of that they could have at least started on and lining up what of music's biggest stars they will get

Announce in 2024. Don’t start retheme until 2026.

Would you prefer they start a month later like with GMR? Or do you think it’s wiser to let fans go visit a ride they enjoy one last time? Also, using years is pretty weak when it’s likely to close in January 2026, which is less than a year and a half since announcement.

Well this is weird. I thought it would have made all the sense to close rock and roller coaster this fall and have the muppets version as the big marketable thing for 2026.

It’s reopening in 2026 as well, so it can and will be a Fall marketing push.

Sept-Dec is now the busier times so I think it not closing by like now they will just wait until January to close things ... And will still be reopen in 2026 so can be part of marketing (along with reopen Bug Thunder, updated Buzz, etc)

I’m not yelling at all. Just an observation on a trend. Disney seems to like to announce things publicly way early. Whether it’s a retheme or a new attraction.
In this instance, I think that their hands are pretty tied on announcing it early. They knew that they had to put this information out at the same time they put the information out about MuppetVision closing. They knew MuppetVision was going to have to close much sooner than RnRC so they just had to package it. If this was an isolated project, I don’t think they would have announced it this early.

Disney says Rock ’N’ Roller Coaster will remain open through 2025 and the reimagining begins in 2026:

Fans of Aerosmith can keep rockin' out to their tunes in the super-stretch through 2025!

Opening Muppets RnRC in 2026? Yes. That's what this announcement says.

Aerosmith remaining in RnRC for all of 2025? Maybe. This announcement doesn't say that. It's possible that in preparation for Muppets RnRC in 2026, that Aerosmith RnRC closes in late 2025, no?

Is there some other official source that says Aerosmith will be in RnRC for all of 2025?
