DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

not necessarily advocating for it but retheming Star Tours to Mosters Inc could work as just randomize which doors you go through to different locations (could even have a punch of different pixar locations or something - like go through Miguel's closet door or things like that as some options)
That does sound pretty fun and a good use of imagination for something already there!

This tracks. Living in San Diego for nearly 10 years and going to DL about 4 times a year, that part of the park where Monsters is, has virtually zero foot traffic and used for special shows and stuff. No one goes back there. Muppets was adjacent to it and had minimal attendance. Even using the 4d theater for movie previews, it was still empty. Personally I'm glad they're actually doing something with that space.

One post I saw about the change the comments were 100% complaining about it (didn't see one positive comment) - mad that Mike and Sully was going and saying no one cares about Avatar ... also one person complaining about the Coco ride because they don't support Pixar due to their "dark" content 🤷‍♂️
People are against change, whether it's good or bad. Once the dust settles, DCA will feel complete. Complaining is what people do best nowadays, not because they are actually upset, but for the need to feel 'seen' in a digital world and to get 'likes'.

No
Or be used in the theater show. We know the theater is already set up to have some AAs in the physical space.
I hesitate to call the figurines in the ride AAs. They are nothing like the Statler & Waldorf, Bean, Swedish Chef, or even the penguins. All of those AAs have way more axes of motion. The Monsters Inc figurines are like the rocking bears on TBA.

It would be a pretty boring show to see Harryhausen rocking back and forth with a shocked expression on his face.

Feel complete? lol.

They finally had a thematically integrated park in 2012 that felt like a California Adventure themed park with room for some additions, then promptly undid it all starting with Guardians then the truly stupid Pixar Pier overlay. They are returning to beat the corpse with San Franskyo and beyond

Or maybe people are able to engage in critical thought regarding the overall direction of the parks and the impact and quality of individual attractions.

I was there several weeks ago.

Let's see:
  • Hollywood / Buena Vista
  • Avengers
  • San Fansokyo
  • Pixar
  • Cars
  • Grizzly Peak
  • Paradise Gardens
Soon
  • Avatar
  • Coco
More like Disney Chaotic Adventures

I'm talking as a full day ticket park, not theme flow. agreed that pixar pier is lame. the overlay to screamin was undeeded, the removal of maliboomer for a smoking section, and the repurposing of the spinner into what it is today felt cheap. San Frantoyko is weird. The mishmash of everything is offputting, but DCA has always been a halfday at most park. They're trying to morph it into something like Epcot and DHS smashed together, which is notable, but should've been done at the inception of DCA 1.0.

So it’s not just me.

I was looking at DCA and DL up on maps last night and I couldn’t believe the mess they’ve become. Don’t get me started on the four parks of WDW either. I think Tokyo is the last collection of Disney Parks that actually makes any thematic sense.

A Six Flags has more coherence than most Disney Parks…

Don't get me wrong. I had a fun time visiting. But that park is really just a mishmash of whatever IP they can squeeze in. And they're going to squeeze in more. As for WDW, AK is the most cohesive park. What they're doing to MK is a travesty.

Wondering how soon it'll be before they drop California from the name and just call it Disney Adventures. Same for DHS.
DHS is still called that because of the unavoidable studio buildings in the middle of the park that you have to walk around. The only two areas completely immersed are Toy Story Land, although Midway Mania uses a studio building, and Galaxy's Edge.
