All things Knotts Berry Farm

I do like Silver Bullet but I really miss the lake and paddlewheel. They used to shoot off fireworks there. Put in a half size paddlewheel.

I would replace Excellerator with a new coaster that is longer with some loops. Better yet, bring back the Wacky Soapbox Racers but as a modern rail coaster with AAs and scenery. Return the Autopia-type cars but as electric with no center rail.

I would demolish Coast Rider because anyone over 5'6" can't ride it without having their knees destroyed. Put in a couple of flat rides there. Even Goofy's Sky School is much more comfortable for a wild mouse. Replace it with a Ghost Train dark ride. Make it super cheesy but with cutting edge effects.

Oh, and never return the parashoot drop. That thing was super scary considering the cages only went up to 48".

I rode the Texas Chute Out at Six Flags over Texas in the '70s. It was very similar to that parachute drop and as a 12-year-old, the scariest thing I'd done in my life up to then.

I was fortunate enough to ride the last of those remaining at Six Flags Great Adventure a few years ago.

It was a very cool experience; that said, by modern standards, it's not a particularly scary or intense ride.

Alas, the Great Adventure model also was closed for years before it was finally torn down a few months ago.

Wow I had no idea that lake was ever there. So much better!

Still no news on whether Montezooma’s Revenge Forbidden Fortress is happening this year. Also, no continuing work on Camp Snoopy as it still needs alot of work. Doesn’t appear as if anything new is opening this year at the park.

This begs the question, was the Six Flags merger beneficial or has it been hurting the park in terms of continuing progress?

It will be good for Knotts eventually IMO. Right now they are focusing on getting the top Six Flags up to the standards of Knotts and Cedar Point.

Montezooma was a mess well before the CF-Six Flags merger, though I'm sure it's not helping. "

If Cedar Point's Top Thrill Dragster makeover worked the first time, I bet Kingda Ka would still be standing. I don't love the way the ride's closure was handled, but I also understand not wanting to pay such a high price to keep a ride running (and reportedly the ride also had 24 hour maintenance happening as well).

I'm still nervous about the merger, but the one positive side effect of all the mass ride removals is seeing people who were thinking only with their coaster dork/money saving goggles and saw this as a no-negative, 100% no reservations great thing come to realize that no, everything is not instantly better just because you now have double the number of parks on your season pass. There are, and will continue to be, trade-offs.

Magic Mountain just repainted all of their slides in Hurricane Harbor. This looks so much better. Knotts water park slides had them repainted recently too. Montezooma is still in pieces with no visible work being done. No new parts are on property. I thinking we won't see any progress until next year to give them something to talk about when Universal opens their new coaster.

Just went to Knott’s for the first time. Fun little park, I think I enjoyed Hangtime and Silver Bullet the most out of the coasters. The Calico Mine Ride and the log flume were cool, I liked seeing where the inspiration for rides like Pirates and Splash Mountain came from.
