MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

If Glendale can assign this project to the team that built Epcot's "World Celebration" and "Dreamers Point" and Moana's Water attraction or maybe even the "Tiana's Bayou Mountain" team?...we should be in great shape. The "Avenger's Campus" team is another one of Imagineering's very best.

Yep, I got lot's of faith in today's current people in Glendale. I'm just glad they pushed out so many of their oldest, most experienced and expensive Imagineers. Y'know,...the ones that were grabbed by Universal and used to make Epic Universe. Those folks.

We are MUCH better off with the new and younger Imagineers, the ones that actually understand today's "modern audience", which is soooo important to every company today.
I completely understand the skepticism. I would have loved to see them but it elsewhere but that isn’t on the table.

I’m a bit biased because I’ve always been a big fan of the Cars franchise and National Parks so these plans as they stand are more appealing to me personally than others perhaps. I’m remaining optimistic and will judge the final product.

Yes
You’ve mentioned this a few times in regards to WDW in regards to having all those other bodies of water/ boats across the resort and I think it’s one of the best counter arguments I’ve heard. Disney would be wise to push that narrative a bit. At Disneyland losing the ROA would be absolutely soul crushing and all we’d be left with is the Pixar Pipe lagoon.
Well Anaheim is a borderline hot semi-arid climate while Orlando is humid subtropical climate. One would expect open bodies of water to have less of a draw in Florida than California as its not unexpected or an extravagant installation.

Just being a stinker here. In advance, it is a joke, so everyone can spare me their outrage and indignation and just laugh. Anyone have a guess as to how long the trail of geysers and ‘Ol Tankful will work before they break, get repaired, break again, get fixed again and then break to just be left and reimagined as giant prairie dog mounds?

On a more serious note, I wonder how this will area will look someday down the road when coming from Villains Land and what the transition between those two areas will look like.

On that sightline bit, it's insane to me how many people in the theme park community argued that sightlines don't matter, specifically in the case of Epic Universe. Theme parks are meant to be immersive themed environments, if we stop caring about sightlines then they just become expensive Six Flags. The only exception to sightlines at Disney should be the castles, as they're meant to be a beacon to direct you towards the hub.
To bring this project up to "Epic" standards like in the highly praised Isle of Berk we're going to need some random views of the Gran Destino tower. And why theme this to look good from any angle when you can just front-load your design so that you get your instagrammable money-shot and then let the themeing progressively degrade as you venture further to the point where not only backstage is visible, but so are off-property utilities. At least Cars can just put some eyes on their bright red cherry picker and give it a name.

Disagree. New Orleans was part of the “Wild West” historically, which is a big part of the inspiration for Frontierland. IMO there is certainly a way to incorporate NOLA and TBA into Frontierland that could work without being too historically inaccurate. They could start by moving some of the Western-style storefronts and CBJ closer to BTM. The jump from those to TBA to BTM needs to be resolved eventually
New Orleans was one of the oldest settled spots in America. If it was the frontier, the phrase is meaningless. It was integral to western trade routes - but so were Charleston and London.

I'm following it perfectly.
I disagree with you.
I know that's hard for you to accept, as only your position is ever the correct one.
You brought up a completely irrelevant point. The age of Dances With Wolves has absolutely no relevance to its relationship to Avatar. I was not invoking Dances as a contemporary film. You were trying to score a point without following the conversation.

It is in the context of the MK though with a steamboat going around it. You don’t really see that everyday.

I had the same thought about the transition. It will be interesting to see how they handle that.

It sounds like you’re having some difficulty processing Epic Universe.

Excluding Frontierland on the shuttle route? Excluding the back part of the loop makes sense, but is the Frontierland station thing just construction safety/sight lines or other things that exclude it? I remember some operational issues with the crossing. It could be both I guess.

The station itself could be on the move. E.g., to go in between BTMR and the new Villains land. Or even a Villains Land station.

Possibly.

Yeah my first thought went to that they’ll only be able to run one train, so queues might be too large if it goes all the way to Frontierland and back to MS then Fantasyland.

The bridge would likely be rotated to allow equipment access. That’s a serious dead end close to the station.

I am wondering about that too. Could it be that they can't do whatever needs to be done to do the actual reversal for shuttling back at the Frontierland Station so can't go past the Main St one? Not sure what is involved in getting it set thing backwards
