I just want you to know that I understand what you are going for with this line of discussion. Star Wars has always leaned into space western, especially in the Outer Rim stories. Sometimes it's more blatant than others... Cad Bane / Freetown / The Sherriff Cobb Vanth... stunt casting Timothy Olyphant. But maybe people missed Season 2 and Book of Boba Fett?
We don't talk about Season 2 or BOBF. Season 1 and Andor are the good SW, Season 3 is mixed,

The old concept art shows an expanse of solid land where there is now a flowing body of water leading uninterrupted to the waterfall. It’s not just a question of emphasis, but a (seeming) alteration (“seeming” because I’m hesitant to take such art at face value, not because it doesn’t show something materially different from the first design).
Again, I think some people read it as solid land, but you're dealing with elevation changes and weirdness that the paint-over concepts artists frequently present wonkily either due to oversight, miscommunication, or misinterpretation of what they're given. The visual cues were there to surmise that a stream would be maintained west of the Piston Peak cascades, and the area near Big Thunder was so visually compressed that pretty much anything was possible. The point is that I don't think the plans are meaningfully altered when comparing the pieces of artwork considering most of the things that were announced about its structural makeup were already guessed. They may have refined the Cars "look" and the park-related finishes of the land, but I think all of the major structures and features will still more or less appear where they were originally shown (the Grand Fusel Lodge, the junior attraction, the geysers, Piston Peak, the stream, the boardwalk, the finish line pavilion, etc.); they were just playfully oriented for the new artwork with backstage elements like the queue/shop building excised.

We’re going around in circles. Others can compare the two pieces of artwork and judge for themselves.

The most important part of your statement is "business pov". With this project, Disney doesn't care about anything other than the fact that they can rake in more $$ with the LL, food, and merch from this Cars area that they aren't getting from TSI/ROA. And they don't really care if they have to destroy theming/atmosphere/ambiance/setting to do it. For every guest that doesn't want the change, there are 10 guests who are lapping it all up. It's all about the Benjamins.
Silly perspective born of cynicism. If it were true, the care and attention to detail would be nowhere near what we’re seeing.

Honestly, I find your cartoons of Iger creepy. I’m sure you don’t intend them to be, and perhaps most people here enjoy them, but they’re a bit much in my opinion.
Well I wouldn't think of making cartoons of you. I am sorry you feel cartoons of Iger creepy.

I wonder what Iger feels about cartoons of him?

Is there another North Woods? The one I looked up said it’s around NY, Vermont etc. Seems like an odd back story choice.
Might be a vague reference to a very old NH entertainment park called, "Clark's Trained Bears." It now has some non-bear amusements, but I think it was more just bears in the past. It was partly a bear zoo, but the bear shows were the main event, with a rustic vibe. They also have a shootin' arcade a bit like the one that used to be at WDW near CBJ.

But this is just a random, wild thought on my part. I only went once, a very long time ago.

I hope someone brings a set of checkers and runs a tournament out on the island on its last day. I was sad to see that all of the pieces were gone when I was there in May.

I overall like the new concept. Tiana's Bayou Adventure currently feels out of place with the orange/rocky/western version of Frontierland, but I think TBA will blend in better with this moor woodsy/national park version of Frontierland.

My point is that this seems more in the vein of clarification/reassurance than alteration. People can think whatever they want of the artwork, but my point is that I don't think people should anticipate something significantly structurally different from what was originally shown. We now know with a bit more certainty what they're planning around the perimeter, but all the same buildings and natural formations suggested by the original art are still there. My concern is that people are taking this art as evidence of extensive revision when I don't think that's the case.
