MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Maybe the reactions to the loss of the river underlined to them the importance of having peaceful areas with trees and water. If this concept art isn’t totally deceptive, it seems they’re designing the area with that factor in mind—in which case I’m much more optimistic than I was…

Re: Haunted Mansion sightlines, maybe there will be a buffer of trees?
It’s not really about the reactions. The plans always included water and water features in this area.

I’m just glad they aren’t putting googly eyes on the Liberty Belle. I would have rather seen her scrapped (which likely will happen) than be transformed into a stationary IP joke.
Yes, despite deriving my name from a stationary paddle wheel boat, I'm only interested in a MK boat if it sails along a river. I don't need the LB for a m&g space or upsell parade viewing location.

Let's not use concept art to judge this. I'm just going to assume it'll be trees and water for the most part. They have stressed hiding the ride from the outside. But we'll see.
There is tree buffer in the original art, so that’s likely still there. Also, it’s quite obvious that none of this is to scale or accurate. It’s just a cartoonish concept for general effect.

Glad to hear that they are actually planning to do most of what I surmised from the D23 art. Hope the execution is great. Also, they really need to eventually merge Pecos with one of its adjacent regions if that’s the route they’re going. Southwest > Louisiana > Arizona is a dumb progression.

Ok so sorry if this is a stupid question but I want to ask, once RoA and TSI closes in July, will the Piston Peak and Villains land be built simultaneously, or will it be Piston Peak first, then Villains land?

So is the only way to get from the main Cars ride to the rest of Frontierland to go through Liberty Square? It looks like Frontierland might effectively be split in two... Unless they're scrapping or converting part of Liberty Square, anyway.

This will sure hide tianas , not that it matters anyway as that was the beginning of the end for this area, and they have nothing to show off for the rotten done ride anyhow...... I don't know what to think of this project as whole, a part of me says what a bunch of muck they came up with to justify udder Stupidity. Another part of me has a new tinge of optimism based on what they are saying, but I'm not trusting they can follow through. I feel like they are just trying to shut everyone up with a bunch of crazy back stories. Obviously they have heard about it for the past several months, but its not exactly appeasing. I'm not buying that you wont hear the dirt truck rally noise. That new map art is nothing but a computer generated cartoon so color me not impressed. but will see.

I do agree that the "storylines" are weak and really just them attempting to justify things that really make no sense thematically. You can spin a bunch of words to make something sound like it fits. Doesn't mean it does. Using the word "frontier" does not just mean you can put whatever you want and say it fits. Alas, they don't care about cohesion anymore, I guess. There is at least an attempt to unify things I suppose even if it is weak.

Good question, they won't be built simultaneously I'm pretty sure, but I don't know if this expansion will open completely before any work is done on Villains. I'm sure they will overlap in some fashion.

We don't know for sure but we have gotten a lot more for PP so I think idea is that opens first and then Villains Land but I suspect at least some of the prelim work for VL will happen at same time (land clearing, underground mechanic, things like that)

But a clear phase 1 and phase 2

Tbf, Splash Mountain takes place in Georgia and that state isn't even consider part of the American Frontier at all (yeah I know the mountain is supposed to fit in with BTMRR and the surrounding lands, but my point still stands)
It was never ever specifically stated that Splash Mountain took place in Georgia. Even if it did, it wouldn’t matter much as the land wasn’t tied together by state geography, but instead it was tied together by visual aesthetic and time period (orange rocks, woodlands, 1800s America, American folklore, etc).

TBA could have been made with respect to these principles, but they actively went in the opposite direction. Green rocks instead of orange and brown. Jazz music instead of folk/bluegrass. 20th century technology such as a 1920s automobile. If there was any rule to follow, it would be that the Frontierland attractions are set in a time period that predates the invention of the modern car.

Villain's will be started after the Cars area is finished.

Ah, so the rules for thee, but not for me argument.
