Here is what the land will look like from a website that we do not speak of.

Gotta take this with a grain of salt, as the art is heavily stylized. The buildings on the left side of the art aren't entirely to scale, and for whatever reason Grizzly Hall looks different. I'm hoping the reality is close to the art but scaled down slightly so the river is wider. There needs to be more separation between the Cars area and the main area.

The new geyser area sounds nice. Love that this is a national park setting.

Depending on how they do things, sightline wise, I think it'll be more thematic than watching the riverboat and tom sawyer island from HM.
it's looking like Cars's entrance is right across from the HM queue, so HM's sightlines might be ruined while the rest are intact
The only way you won't hear any racing car sounds outside the area is if it is enclosed (and it isn't). So take that with a boulder of salt.
They mentioned doing specific tactics to negate sound like banking (iirc), so it'll at least be quieter. I hope.

I am more sold on the idea now that I know they're going to make sure you can't see any Cars stuff from anywhere outside of the area, and make sure you can't hear the race cars outside of the area either. The decently wide river and extra water features are nice too, though the art makes me think that the Haunted Mansion will no longer be a manor on the water.
It will be a shame to lose the manor on the water, but I am intrigued by the idea of a manor tucked away into the woods, just peaking out amongst the trees. As sad as I am to lose Rivers of America and the Liberty Belle, I’m ngl I love this new art. I love that there will still be a river along the original Frontierland path. I love that the new ride features geysers that will be thematically connected to BTM. I love that they will be minimizing the visibility and noise of the cars. This is a far cry from the notion that they will be paving over paradise and replacing it with a parking lot.

If this area is supposedly based on National Parks and Old Mickey Mouse cartoons…then WHY IS IT CARS THEMED??? 🤣

Look, Disney can say whatever they want, but this is a hysterically stupid decision at a magnitude I didn’t even think was possible. Tiana and New Orleans already felt out of place, but Cars takes it to another level. You can see how they’re tying themselves into knots to get the “storylines” of the attractions to fit together. Newsflash: the storylines in a theme park are much less important than the placemaking, and how that placemaking organically fits together. This looks less organic than the current state of Epcot.

Now there are ways they can make this area work better. The grey “Piston Peaks” capped with snow need to be replaced with orange/brown rock work. Maybe a new mountain or cliff top filled with trees. The whole area needs to be filled with natural foliage. I fear they’re going to go light on this and if they do, the area won’t feel anything like a national park. They also should let go of the Cars theming. It feels forced and loose at best. I doubt they will as it’s all about selling merch for them, but the visual congruency and natural trees are a must.

I mean ruined may be a bit hyperbolic. They aren’t putting a landfill next to the Mansion. But the sightlines will be different, you’ll be seeing a guest path, and a national park in the distance.

Could be a cool moment for them to build some gardens for the mansion on that buffer zone, like in Disneyland.
