Is this for real? Thats an awful lot of showtimes. Quantity over quality.

really feels like they set it up to be a continous loop show if it were a bunch of robots and not a stage show.

That's not a lot of turnaround to dump and fill the theater.

It’s definitely something of an interesting set up. The theater has just shy of 600 seats so it’s on par with MuppetVision. So it can do 600 per hour at the start and end of the day and 1200 per hour in the middle of the afternoon when they double up and about 9000 total in a day with the current schedule. But those afternoon shows only allow 12 minutes to dump a performance and seat for the next one. And while similar in size to MuppetVision which has 2 minutes between shows, the Sunset Showcase is not set up to allow for simultaneous exiting and entering and the three-sections-with-aisles setup means it takes longer to load as opposed to just having everyone slide down to the end of their row from the entrance doors. But without an outdoor barely-shaded waiting area, I don’t expect people to be camping out for this short show. It’ll be interesting to see what demand actually ends up looking like for this once day guests get to see it.

Given that dense show schedule, having some villain rotation would also be good for giving the actors a breather.

The cast almost definitely is spread out throughout the day. If Frozen is run with an A Cast for the first 5 shows and a B Cast for the last 5 shows and Frozen does 10 shows 1 hour apart, I’m assuming Villains has an A Cast for 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, a B Cast for 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, and a C Cast for 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00. The casts will all have the same length of breaks and same amount of stage time. But the doubling up of casts once the B Cast starts in the afternoon and limited backstage venue space is likely why they don’t have more than 3 live performers in the show.

Imagine two Maleficents sharing a room!

The way the show is set up, it seems like they can easily rotate the villains on stage every couple of years. Especially if this show will be here until Villains land opens.
I could see updates if this doesn’t bomb and close. This presentation is rather versatile.
I don’t know if this will bomb like some people on here expect. The reactions I’ve seen so far besides this forum have been mainly positive.

I’ve noticed that, too. Of course, we will know more once it opens.

I agree that it’s better than the Cars show (although I hope they’ve saved that AA for MK).

There's an excellent live Villains show that plays in the Festival of the Lion King theater in HKDL during Halloween.

Not sure if it had any substantial changes post-pandemic, but they still do it

Disney is more than capable of producing a good Villain show. The Spelltacular at MNSSHP is another example

This does not look to be one of them.
