Redoing the deck underneath it to fix the crumbling concrete ceiling in the Utilidor spaces underneath will be the BIG expense...

No. It is often misquoted as being one of the ships from the movie. It looks similar though. Even D23 says it is from movie. Same with the MK structural arch over the TTC toll Plaza, it is not from Wonders of Life Pavilion in EPCOT. And.... Horizons quote didn't come from Imagineers or Walt. Was coined by Sheralyn Silverstein for General Electric in 1981. Even though an Imagineer is on video taking credit for it.

i can confirm that there were 2 ships used in that movie, one is on the backlot of DHS and the other one was re-themed (according to the latest edition of D23 Magazine) to the cool ship in tomorrowland at the magic kingdom.

3 seconds of searching the internet would reveal that... the red ship Stitch took looks nothing like the one at Cool Ship.

Well I’m not sure what your source is but I can tell you when I worked the Cool Ship, 24 years ago it was in our training that the base of the ship was one of the ships from flight of the navigator. Doesn’t mean it’s correct but Disney themselves have been claiming this for at least that long.
