I have read some where in the news that Disney will have a big announcement around the 22nd or 23rd ( right as the new Universal park opens) .. i just wonder just how big the announcement will be or if its much to do about nothing.. Which i firmly feel is going to be the case . Probably going to raise the price of popcorn in the park.. Which I assume will cause more people to want to ignore the new park and rush to WDW to purchase popcorn before the price goes up.. I am hoping for the return of the Magical express.. but i believe the popcorn announcement will be closer to the truth..

Where did you read that? If you read it a couple weeks ago or more the announcement they were referencing was probably the new theme park in Abu Dhabi. I have seen some speculation that new concept art for Villains will be released around that time, which seems plausible. Edited to say the Stitch movie opens that day, so news of a Stitch overlay on a ride seems vaguely possible as well.

OP is right... Len Testa mentioned something in the "what should they do with Animation Courtyard thread" although he said he wasn't sure if the announcement was still coming this week.

Additionally on his latest podcast he mentioned that Animation Courtyard would be under construction March 2026. Also in the RNRC thread.

Given they just did a whole "congrats universal" message today, I don't see them wanting to trample on Epic's opening. I think even the general public might not take well to that, even if it is something grand and new.
