Not everyone can afford it, and that’s a bummer, but not everyone can afford a whole lot of things in this world.
So true. Disney has been pricing out families for decades, its nothing new.

For our family its not a matter of if its matter of when.

There are still plenty of families that can still do it.

For each family Disney prices out, there are more to replace them.

EPIC looks fantastic! Everything one would want in a theme park, but WDW will remain king in Florida and MK will remain king of the world.

I was flip flopping there for a while but I am back on board and despite all the decisions TWDC makes that I disagree with..

TWDC and its theme parks are........... Invincible :D

I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop and the bottom AP tiers have 50 percent off parking instead of free parking.
I’m shocked to hear you still get free parking out east, that was taken away at DL several years ago for all but the highest tier pass, we had the second highest ($1400) pass and that only gave us 50% off parking, they also decreased the in park discounts from 20% to 10% at the same time… which are just a couple of the many reasons we don’t have passes anymore, the value is gone.

No one said a WDW vacation was going to be easy...... ;)
It certainly isn’t. Required lots of planning , some luck , lots of money and much patience with the FL heat humidity and if one is there when a hurricane is coming occurs and the aftermath that’s a whole new experience.

This is a vacation, not a home renovation.
For home manual labor needs inside and out there was a big labor pool of males outside our local Home Depot standing outside in the parking lot looking for jobs. Lately that pool of workers has dwindled significantly.

Of course I do, but there aren’t too many other vacation destinations where you’re so locked in to the “bubble”. Ignoring the price increases beyond park tickets and lodging is impossible. Disney knows exactly what they’re doing though.
The bubble is permeable, you can bring outside food and drinks. So I don't share the same sentiment, because for the most part food prices are reasonable and inlined with prices at other cities and metro areas.
There are other entertainment experiences, like concerts or tournaments where it's not permitted to bring in outside food or even water, and prices are significantly more jacked up than anything at Disney parks.

Like a majority of guests, I come in from out of state on a plane. I actually enjoyed the days when Disney picked us up at the airport and transported us to and from the bubble. While never cheap, we didn’t need to take on insane credit card debt to enjoy a nice week of vacation. I fully knew what Disney was doing and I went along willingly. Now prices have risen exponentially but you suggest I leave the bubble so I can brown bag my meals and maybe save a few bucks after I pay to leave. Sounds magical.

And as others have pointed out, concerts and sporting events are a different animal. They last a matter of hours and I can decide whether I eat or drink while inside. A resort with four theme parks doesn’t exactly give me that option.

I’m certainly not asking Disney to give anything away or remain affordable for every income bracket, that’s not realistic. But for a family who spent 20+ years going twice a year up until 2019, who happens to have an upper middle class income, I think it’s foolish for Disney to be squeezing us out. Sure there appears to be a steady supply of those more wealthy (or foolish) than me, but that well will eventually run dry between the credit card debt and better, premium options for the upper class.

But Josh will keep thinking about affordability every day and spewing his nonsense, right into a nice cushy retirement. We’ll see what Disney looks like then.

You post this same thing at least twice a week

The problem is it’s not true. They have never had attendance not rise in a non-recession period. Not once

Well guess what? That’s over now. You’re in it.

Whether people still pay is not the problem…it’s the stress on the customer pool as it shrinks.

All that utter 🐂💩about “they want to reduce attendance” cannot happen. It’s not possible based on the business model

It’s just taken this long for them to burn their bridge built on reputation…slow burning fuse. That’s the prior management

Hell…this yutz even said in his bad book “we realized we were undercharging for our product…”

Translation: let’s squeeze them and DEVALUE the the product for the customers.

Smart short term…stupid longterm

Customers aren’t idiots…they’re just “delayed”
It’s catching up

So Josh is selling an affordable experience with less inclusions than before?

WDW - we are banking on FOMO

I'm not looking to defend WDW's increased costs or comparing the cost of the typical experience today than it was a decade ago. Because it is more expensive.

They took away free line skipping in WDW. That's gone and it's never coming back.

I'm comparing the discounts they have going now this summer to the affordability of 4-5 years ago.

Folks on these boards have been saying "Smart short term…stupid longterm" for decades.

Folks who still want to vacation at Disneyparks are not idiots, they are simply not priced out yet. There are a lot if folks with a lot of money out there. Just ask Bob, Hugh and Josh. ;)

Not calling you wrong but lets see how long the "delay" lasts.

Lets see if the Halloween and Christmas parties sell out the year too.

Yup. It was magical when I stayed on 192 and sometimes ate BOGO Cici’s pizza buffets.

Maybe because I didn’t feel entitled to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge or whatever. I was just happy to be there. 🤷🏻‍♂️ YMMV.
