With the current discounts you can do all four parks in August for 5 nights for under $2500. (Transportation and food not included)
What dates? Cheapest I can find is 5 nights in a standard All Star Sports room for 4 ($109/night with their Stay Longer and Save More deal) with 4 days of one-park tickets for $2638.

I mean the poor guy is probably barely scraping by with 1 yacht.
Hey, there's only one BIGGEST yacht in the world.

Everyone else, with their slightly smaller yachts, feels a little jealous because they know their yacht is slightly smaller.

So a little sympathy, because they all need bigger boats. Even the guy with the biggest yacht, because his is only the biggest one until someone else builds a bigger one.

It's rough at the top ;)

and it is a very old game.

There’s a reason they are pricing the summer low(er) IMO Epic is part of it but also, it’s disgustingly hot and gets worse every year. It is only May and already in the mid 90s in Orlando. Every year it seems to get hotter, earlier. Who wants to be there in August? Even when I was a local, summer was definitely my least visited time and I assume many feel the same way. It’s just not fun when you are immediately suffocating from the heat and drenched in sweat. August and September are also prime hurricane time.

I get for some people it’s the only option, but there’s a reason it’s cheaper, both cash and DVC stays.

if you do the 3 day non-MK park tickets for $89/day and then add in 1 MK park ticket (or a Halloween party to get your MK time in) it works out cheaper.

You can't add those tickets when doing a simple package though - have to do room only and then add those tickets separately

(though, I wouldn't call $2,638 outlandish for a great family vacation - and really not more than what it was 10+ years ago when factoring in inflation)

Are we ignoring the cost of food, transportation, upcharges, etc?

“Great family vacation” is still debatable these days, even if you can find a half decent deal.

I don’t disagree the pricing is out of hand, but people keep booking. Heck, bookings are up for YoY and look to be trending up the rest of the year as well. The customer is shouting that they don’t care about the price. Is it sustainable? I’m not sure, but the train keeps plowing on.
Prices are supporting the demand. If the demand wasn't there, the prices would be "more affordable".

Disney doesn't control transportation costs, so you can ignore that. Upcharges are optional. And the cost for a majority of the quick service options on property is pretty similar to any other vacation destination/theme park for the most part.

The deals this summer allow families to go to WDW where previously it was just out of reach.

Of course not but that existed in the past too and with other options

We still find it a great family vacation compared to other things we have done
Fair enough, but the extras have quickly surpassed even park tickets in price increases. You could quickly double your stated cost. To each their own, but we’ve been fortunate to find other alternatives that offer better value. Only here because of our past memories that we’d like to revisit someday, just looking less likely every day.

You’re delusional. These are not “deals”. It’s simply Disney trying to discount their product enough to be competitive after raising prices well beyond inflation.

And the experience has completely changed due to the upcharges that used to be included. Not buying lightning lanes for example will certainly impact your trip, particularly in the hot summer months.
