Also, not to add fuel to the fire, but unless I’m missing a reference, I think they misspelled an entire restaurant name and created a logo using that misspelling. Star Sui Bao seems like it’s supposed to reference char siu, but if so, the “i” and “u” are inverted based on every romanization I’ve ever seen of the term.

I am not speaking in terms of the attractions quality. I am talking about the type of experience it is. Almost everything in epic universe is world class but I find very little of it trumps Disney in overall quality.

I'm pretty sure it was an intentional decision to make the pronunciation of the stand to be more accessible with the general audience. My entire life I've heard very few non-Mandarin or Cantonese native speakers in America that say char siu without absolutely butchering the pronunciation. It's more comfortable to hear sui then siu in a butchered format.

I agree. Much of the theme park community has admitted that Epic isn't a Disney killer. The only thing I think Epic has an edge on might be food/restaurants, but everything else is just "good." People tend to glaze anything that's new (especially a new park) way too much as long as it's good enough.

I'm not sure why they would do that. It just makes correct pronunciation even more unlikely. I've seen alternatives like shao, sio, siew, and xiu, but never "sui". All it does is obscure the reference.

I take it you never visit regional parks at all. The signs at those parks are similar.

Most guests probably don't care that the language on a sign is not proper.

My suggestion is those that are nit picking things like this, go back to The Mouse.

Regional parks are not poorly run at all. Dollywood is run very well and use the same language same with Knotts.

My point is while it it's not worded properly, most guests don't make that big a deal about it.

It's not a low standard. There really isn't that big of a difference between saying
"Those with the following conditions" and pregnant being one of them and Expectant Mothers shouldn't ride this attraction".

The message is still the same. Y'all are making a big deal cause Pregnancy isn't a condition.

Then why does Universal spend so much time and money on them and make sure they have approval from their own safety team?

So they can point to the sign and say "We told you so" when trouble arises, which what you perceive as an error will in no way prevent them from doing, because it won't be considered an issue.

The signs aren't actually there to ensure your safety, they're there to ensure the park doesn't get sued. Most people don't even read the signs, and they know this. Makes no difference to Universal so long as they're there. The only person who can actually ensure your safety with regards to any pre-existing health conditions is yourself, by using common sense.

So we should let rampant grammar issues go unchecked?

RAMPANT????? There is a couple of mistakes but the pregnancy one isn't one. Most parks have it on their signs that way.

Why are you Dusters trying so hard to knock this park? I get it, most of you aren't big on Universal.

The first part of yours is opinion, the second part and being so sure of it no matter what, before something even exists, is why some would label you a duster.

I’m not talking quality. I’m talking about the type of experience it is. And I know someone will say villains but I think that will end up being significantly more cartoony then dark universe.

Don't worry, I'm in the process of sending a multi paragraph email to Universal to tell them the grammatical mistakes in their ride warning signs.

Pregnancy is not a condition. They should say Expectant Mothers shouldn't ride this attraction. Disney fans expect better. ,

It's not the end of the world, but this is exactly the stuff we all (rightly) pick at Disney for when it happens. If you're a Universal fan, I don't know why you would be happy for Disney to be kept on its toes about these kind of things but "eh, close enough" being good enough for Universal.

It would be one thing if this "Pregnancy Condition" was only on signs at Epic. Its across all their parks as well as all the parks most of you look down on.

I don't pick at Disney for little things like this. What I pick at Disney for is attraction placement and keeping the themes of their parks.

I think Super Nintendo world looks like it will give universal the biggest family audience it’s ever had. I think monsters and how to train your dragon are too niche to move attendance considerably. And while Harry Potter is very popular the new land probably won’t even bring in any new audiences at all

I've expressed several times in this thread that I hope EU is successful and that Berk will be the sleeper hit.

Any negativity from me is because I see negatives. I also see positives. It's not 100% one way or the other.
