Of the 6 people I know personally who watched Andor season 1, 5 are waiting to watch until the full season drops.

I believe the original numbers also started out slow and grew week by week, with viewership increasing well after it had ended.
I think we said that last time for Skeleton Crew. Viewership didn't get better. People forgot all about it.

just my opinion, but so far season 1 was much better than this season. i appreciate that it’s not your typical star wars kind of show, but i’m going to fall into a coma soon at this pace. i remember reading somewhere that diego luna said this will change how you watch rogue one & it feels like a different movie. i’m not getting those vibes so far with this season.

Huh. I feel like it is night and day difference with how much quicker season 2 is compared to the utterly slow paced season 1. While there are some stuff (like the wedding) that have dragged, this season it feels like every episode IMHO has had some "action" while last time there were entire episodes where it felt like there was just people talking and nothing actually happening. It's fascinating to see different reactions.

I wonder if that is because of The Acolyte. Skeleton Crew didn't draw numbers either.
Probably…they were also weirdo reinterpreted trash…

I don’t know if anyone’s heard…but Star Wars fandom has been known to hold a grudge when you disappoint them…just a tad

What they need is a couple of @$$ kicking movies…like popcorn, rule the summer, sell some heavy crap type movies

Probably the only way back at this point

…so the show is too slow for you…and haven’t you expressed some prequel love?

It’s time for another lesson in the ways of the force, padawan 😉
At least the prequels have action every so often. I can't think of any action happening outside of Andor stealing the TIE and having to deal with the morons on Yavin.

This is the spoiler thread, so I'm not hiding anything. But beware - major plot points (I guess) from this batch ahead. These three were easily the best of this season, but that's an incredibly low bar.

The acting continues to be top notch, especially Luna, Skarsgaard and O'Reilly. Truly wonderful work by them. And I agree with Walter and Phroo - the production value is top notch. But good grief some of the story choices they have made.

My biggest gripe is they fell into the same trap as so many prequels: they try to create tension by putting people in danger who we KNOW survive! When worthless Syril attacks Cassian, there is absolutely no chance he kills him - Cassian survives this series only to die in Rogue 1. There's a plot to kill Mon Mothma - so what? We know she lives through this into the OT. The end of 9, when they are powering up K2SO and errybody's worried? I'm not - I know he is fine and helps the rebels. You can do origin stories without putting characters in mortal peril when there is no chance they perish. It's lazy.

Don't get me started on Bix choosing to leave after reuniting instead of jetting off while Cassian was gone, when she knew he wanted out. Again, fake tension manufactured by a stupid character choice does a disservice to an otherwise solid character in Bix.

Finally, Dedra's crying is utterly unearned. Do evil stuff, suffer the consequences. I have no sympathy for her.

Only three more left.

If you want to watch some entertaining Star Wars, I do recommend the Tales from the Underworld. Ventress and Bane are two characters I really like, and those are six quick episodes that do a good job with backstories.

I get what you're saying with regards to "plot armor", but what do you expect? This is a story about the building of the rebel alliance set prior to the stories already told. So there was always going to be stories told within the show that involve the main characters of said rebels being put in harms way even if we know they won't die due to showing up in the next story. Its sort of built into the conceit of the show. And so this will always happen when you go back and tell stories in an established universe with known characters. You call it lazy, I call it filling in the backstory of the characters and universe.

We are watching the characters who are building the rebels so of course they would have been in mortal danger at various points. Sure, we all know who goes when, and where this ends up, but that isn’t the point. This show is about how they got there, what it took, what they had to sacrifice, the dark side of starting, funding, and maintaining a rebellion, etc.

Sure, it has some issues, but even knowing where it ends this show is on par with or better than any Star Wars movie or TV released since the 1980s, including the movie it leads into.

I will go as far to say this is the best Star Wars since Empire
