Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

I would say it’s objectively a bad idea. Trading four classic attractions for an Incredibles rollercoaster, Up playground, and Aquatopia clone is just insane. At least with the RoA it gets subjective but this is objectively an awful idea and I can’t wrap my head around how TOLC came to this conclusion
Agreed. The more I think about it the more I prefer the rivers of America change. At least we might get villains land out of that. With this they’re removing 2 of my favorite attractions. It makes me very concerned for the future of these attractions in the states.

I have a feeling that Jungle Cruise and Tiki Room will survive. The concept art is not detailed enough for me to believe that it is a final concept. I think this might be a rare decision that domestic leadership (or at least WDI) may disagree with.

I feel like they’re safe at Disneyland. Any classic attraction that made it past the 50th is likely here to stay. If the CBJ had held out just a few more years I fully believe it’d still be here today, and Pooh would’ve been put somewhere else.

MK’s only “safe” attractions imo are Space Mountain and the Country Bears, since they’re both MK originals that prove to still be popular and/or beloved. The bears might technically be a new show, but overlays and changes aren’t new to them. The OG show hasn’t been in MK since 2012 (and if we’re getting really technical, the OG show hasn’t been around since 1975). Our Space Mountain is the largest and the original, and with TRON being next door I don’t see them doing a new version like Tokyo.

MK’s Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise might also be safe since they’re both consistently popular and both got recent additions.

I don’t know why they’re replacing so many classics now. Seems like the late 90s all over again.

…Holy crap, they made TDO look smart by comparison. Does anyone know how hard that is?

While it's extremely sad to lose these classics, and whether or not the chosen IP will fit remains to be seen, I will always celebrate when the castle parks become more distinct between each other

OLC has been on a mission to exchange their TDL clones for rides that are unique to them

We'll still be able to experience Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room and the Treehouse in several other parks
But now TDL will gain a plethora of unique experiences, just like they did with BATB, Space and Ralph on the other side

I just hope what's special about TDL's versions can be brought to the remaining ones. Jungle Cruise having special lighting effects at night sounds really nice.

I’m sad to see OLC removing Jungle Cruise. I think OLC needs to have more thoughts of reimagining Adventureland. I don’t know how I feel with Incredibles in Adventureland. It giving me California Screamin’ vibes. Not in a good way.

Frankly I am surprised they will spare their Pirates of the Caribbean. I heard the classic si not well liked as it is in the US. Was Jungle Cruise ever had a cult favorite like it is in Disneyland California?

I'm just curious, do any of you all have any ideas for what this part of the land could be? I (and a few others I've seen on Twitter) was thinking it could wither be Encanto or Coco as the building do in the films do somewhat match that. I'm leaning towards it could be Coco, but maybe you all have other ideas.

Just now realizing- Tokyo’s CBJ looks to be connected to the Tiki Room like in MK.

You don’t suppose that means it’s on the chopping block too… right? Are we at risk of losing them too?
This was also my question. I could stomach losing everything else but the last real CBJ would be a genuine tragedy. But they still regularly create and sell new merchandise based on the property whereas none of the others on the chopping block move merch, so I'm hoping that saves it.

This is where the New Orleans Theater is now, right? Could it be another theater? Something to do with Dinosaurs because of the pterodactyl?
