Your claim that “the lead actress is upset people are roasting the film” also seems to be based on this questionable content. (I’m sure she’s not happy about it, but she has not, as far as I’m aware, publicly expressed her feelings.)
She made an Instagram live about being upset that people didn't like her film. I have her blocked on all social media, but there is a screen recording of it that has made its rounds. I think a big part of the issue is that she is of the generation that doesn't know how to not be online all the time, so she's constantly seeing all of it.

Edit: apparently there have been multiple Instagram lives about this, one where she talks about hoe people are going to line up to see this movie even though people "hate seeing [her] win." Girl, put the phone down, please.

I don't begrudge her issues with Gadot, but "joking" about other co-stars losing their jobs or having their scenes completely cut/ demanding more money for herself during industry strikes and trash talking a project that was still in production other people (who make far less money than she does) are dependent on is yucky and Mean Girl behaviour. Who wants to go see a new version of Snow White where the lead is talking 💩 about abuse survivors, even if they're fictional?

What do you mean by trash talking a project?

You think she trash talked the movie she was making?

Aside from trashing the original movie (which, I mean, she's free to not like, but maybe just keep it to yourself?), the big one (for me, personally) was saying that someone else's scenes (all of them) cut just be cut. First of all, that's yucky. I don't care if it's supposed to be a "joke," something mean disguised as a joke is still mean. Secondly, saying that whole sections/scenes, etc. from a project you're working on still currently in development can just be thrown out is a huge industry no-no.

I don’t know what you’re referring to.

People across the board have been saying thay they are "sick of these cash grabs" by Disney, though. I said that because that's the terminology people are using to say why they're not going.
That’s what they’ve been trained to say. They read boards like these and adopt the terminology to sound like they know what they are talking about or are “insiders.”

Snobbery is snobbery, let’s just be real.
I guess the lead actress is upset people are roasting the film and even the Simpsons took a shot at it. I do not condone bullying of celebrities or anyone else, but it's....VERY INTERESTING to me that bullies always crumble instant they get a little push back. They can always dish, but they can't take even a little bit back.
What makes you think Rachel is a bully?

Most of what you are posting seems to be based on very flimsy info (read: you’ve been hoodwinked.)

The thumbnail with the Simpsons dupes did mislead, but in terms of speaking on the strikes, I *actually know what I am talking about*. The interview she did at the strike event is online. She could have taken the opportunity to advocate for others instead of "joking" about people getting their scenes cut or demanding more money for herself during the strike is yucky. The vast majority of the people who work on films aren't making millions of dollars. They're making minimum wage at BEST. Yes, people, even RZ, should be compensated for their work, and should be paid residual dues. However, this particular strike wasn't about the people at the top.

The problem is is because the vast majority of critics are invalid, anyone who has anything valid to say is lumped in.

Because I am responding on my phone. As someone in the entertainment unions, I actually know what I am talking about.

Being in a union while being pretty careless about discerning what is real or doctored online doesn’t make your comments any more credible.

Post the clip you think supports what you are saying.

It was an off hand comment from me about one or two YouTube thumbnails from videos I said I hadn't watched, which is why I said, "I guess" on the comments. Which I also said, oh, thank goodness! When they weren't. (The multiple Instagram live crash outs are, unfortunately, also very real. Ugh)

The quotes about Burnap's scenes being cut are from here (which I think is also from the "weird, weird!" quote is from, but I don't actually care if she liked the original or not. Everyone focused on that part of it instead the second half.

I don't think it will make a difference, because people have decided they're going to defend her and people have decided they don't like her. Everyone has already made up their minds.

(Sorry the formatting on this isn't the best, I'm trying to do this through a browser on my phone and not the app

Okay that’s what I meant about a cut up clip. She was responding to whether or not there would be a love interest in the film and said the film doesn’t center on it, but Andrew Burnap was cast (so presumably there is a love interest).

People were attacking the film as not having a love story, so she said “who knows, all his scenes could be cut” to show how unlikely that would be. Why write the story, hire the actor and then cut all his scenes.

I don’t care about Rachel Zegler but the attacks on her have been extreme and in many cases baseless. I hate to see people taken in by this type of shoddy, sensationalist “reporting.”

Instead of joking about his scenes being cut (which is nasty, sorry), they could have coached her to say something like "it will be a fun surprise!" or something to that effect. It could have been handled so much better. Having something you worked on in a film, even if it's minor, even if it's not personal, can be pretty devastating. Not just for the actors, but for the other folks who put countless hours (often under awful working conditions).

What I don't understand is why they said it wasn't a love story, but then there was still a love subplot? What was the point of making a big deal about it not having a prince, when he's now just a Robin Hood figure and there's still romance. I was honestly very surprised.

As I suspected, you are not well-informed, have intentionally been misinformed, but you believe it because you want to.

Don’t just believe everything you see on TikTok - especially when it seems bizarre.

As someone presenting yourself as being in an entertainment union, that’s especially embarrassing.

This conversation is over.

Like "plays" are some kind of inferior form of entertainment.

I'd rather go see live theater than watch a movie. There is just something fascinating about watching the scenes change and the emotional impact a live actor can present to an audience. Its very intimate.
I prefer plays also but it’s a substantial paycheck difference, I read an article not that long ago that stated Broderick and Lane were some of the highest paid actors on Broadway and each made $5 million a year for the Producers, that’s incredible money but a far cry from the $20-40 million top movie stars are making per movie now.

The flip side is I’ve witnessed quite a few movies being filmed in Vegas and nothing about it looked fun, hours of sitting around while the crews set up the scene, 20 minutes of filming, hours of sitting around while they set up the next scene, 20 minutes of filming… looked tedious and boring, if that’s normal I’d rather be a stage actor.

Doing a live show, with the thrill of the unknown, followed by applause and instant gratification seems like it would be much more fun and also much more gratifying.

Yeah, that was something she recorded a few years ago that had nothing to do with the film:

Again, beware the trolls and agitators.

That makes no sense. She was asked questions about the movie and answered them. There’s no justification for the kind of hatchet job done on that young woman.

Wait, I'm not sure I follow-- what part doesn't make sense? The fact that Disney made the actors say it wasn't a romance, but then....had romance anyway? Because I was left absolutely baffled by this.

Why should she say something as vapid as “it will be a fun surprise?” She was there to answer questions.

I don’t remember anyone associated with Disney saying there was no love story in the movie.

I’m sure Andrew Burnap has enough brains to know what she was saying and that she wasn’t making jokes about his livelihood.
