It's bad. The walk from the CityWalk parking garages to one of the park entrances is undoubtedly longer, but it is aided by moving walkways, covers over the walkways, and the fact that walking through CityWalk itself is interesting. For Epic, it feels endless because its one long straight path of the same scenery with no shade, no moving walkways, and no trams. Then there's a hefty walk from the front of the parking lot to the front gate.

The lack of tram service or covering the center walkway is bad and I think may actually hurt the chances of Epic becoming a local "hangout" spot as has been suggested being an intention. I'm sure someone will chime in to say it "isn't that bad", but picture having to do that walk at like, noon in August. Ugh, no thank you.

For those planning trips to Epic (or are just nerds like me)... decided to share what you should start planning for regarding quick service pricing. (Still waiting on pricing for Blue Dragon as it has yet to open.)

Universal is attempting to provide an elevated form of quick service dining, and so far Epic Universe has proven that. I do, however, have concerns regarding staffing, operational efficiency, and whether or not guests accept the higher pricing.

For example, a steak bowl at Satu'li Canteen is $14.99, Epic's version is priced $5 higher at $19.99.

Tips:
  • Pizza Moon - each pizza is shareable for 2 guests. Definitely can save money here by splitting meals
  • Cafe L'Air la Sirene - sandwiches are shareable, save space (and $) for the Butterbeer Crepe!
  • Das Stakehaus - great environment... I'd avoid the food here, though. I'd probably recommend mobile ordering Burning Blade food items and bringing it here

*I also want to add, all of the Quick Service locations are almost attractions themselves, so definitely take a peek inside of each of them even if you don't intend on eating there.

It's bad, I won't sugarcoat it. If they can add shade structures and some seating area with fans... it'll be a bit better.

I’m just saying I leave park ops at Seaworld December 2018 and ever since then everyone mentions that park ops there has massively gone down in quality. Coincidence? Absolutely, but I will pretend otherwise for the sake of my ego.

was the toads cafe menu the same as Hollywood? We’re going on the 29th and and based on the menu from Hollywood and the theming we were thinking about eating there but we’re concerned about the potential lack of vegetarian options. The Hollywood menu seemed pretty good in that regard.

Pretty similar. Orlando doesn't have the Chef Toad Short Rib Special though.

Sad to hear. They built three new coasters in three years and now working on a Sorin' type attraction. Building new attractions is only half the job, as you said, they need the ride ops who are properly trained, properly paid and care.

It was designed before bringing Legend of Zelda to Epic Universe was considered. Why would it be removed? It was a project that had already been in development hell for years (look how long ago The Eight Voyage of Sinbad was closed). Even if Hyrule was built at Islands of Adventure the store isn’t part of a specific story, it’s just a Nintendo store.
