Multi/Single Pass with separate accounts/ticket start days...

I think I have an idea how this should work but just had a chat on MDE that didn't mention this so I wanted to get a separate opinion.

- I am going down next week with a room+ticket package and have made Multi/Single Pass ressies as I am in the 7 day window.
- My partner is coming down for part of my trip, has ticket only and as such hasn't hit their window to make ressies yet.

I understand not being able to include them in my plans yet as they don't have the room reservation/on site perk, but I thought that when we both were eligible we could "link/share" our (separate) MDE accounts and make reservations as a party together. I was told that essentially we would be aiming to have overlapping plans (which seems unlikely). Even if I lose the ones I've already made I thought it was possible to do it as a group as that would be much more preferable for obvious reasons. Is that possible now or was I imagining being able to do that before?

If you’ve already made your LL reservations, I don’t understand what you want to do exactly. You can book together with anyone linked to you - but you can’t just add them to what you have unless those times are still available.

I guess you could cancel the MultiPass LLs and then book together.

But since the SnglePass LLs are non-refundable, you’ll just have to book what you can for your partner and hope they overlap. But it might be hard to even book those, let alone have them at the same time.

From what you are saying I should be able to edit or cancel the reservations I have already made and re-make them once we get past the 3 day mark as a single party. Which is how I thought it should work, I don't understand why they were telling me otherwise. I guess I can try with one of the less valuable ones as an experiment first.

Probably because usually in this situation it would be a last minute thing, so booking what you can for one is easier than rebooking for the whole group.

Once the LLs are booked, they’ve made modifying tricky. It sometimes only allows you to modify to a later time after all your other ones.

You can cancel your regular ones and rebook. But you risk not being able to get some of them at all.

I realize it's too late now but for future reference - next time you could just book room and tickets separately and assuming it's just the two of you add your partner to your resort stay for the full length and then you can book all your LLs together.

So after scheduling everything today I was able to get stuff to overlap at Epcot fairly easily. The start is later in the day but we will be at the expo so it wouldn't matter either way. The other day we have premiere so no issues there.

Next time we do this I'll consider the separate room+ticket strategy. There are reasons to do the package I guess and would never have guessed it would impact the fastpasses but shouldn't be surprised.
