DHS What should they do with Animation Courtyard?

I don’t understand how we just got the final death nell for muppet vision in the parks and hardly anyone has reacted in sadness or anything yet
I’d already figured it was a lost cause. I can’t imagine Disney moving all those animatronics and effects, even if it is beloved. I just hope they find a good home for them and they don’t just get scrapped.

I always thought that they should have the Muppets Great Movie Ride. It would be a mash up of TGMR and MV3D.
I thought that an easy/cheap fix to the GMR would have been to make it all Disney/Pixar themed. Start with Steamboat Willie go through the decades of Disney movie making. Then, again, for relatively cheap they could have made AC into Toon Town and had MMRR the flagship ride there (as it is in DLR).

Just my opinion ... if they are really going to announce this outside of a convention, the week of EU opening & in the midst of several other attractions already being built at the resort. It has to be for a bigger IP than Simpsons.

If they really want to take the attention away ... If they want an actual win. My guess is they have secured Marvel rights for Animation Courtyard.

Otherwise, no need for a big splashy announcement.

A Simpsons announcement will not garner any media attention strong enough to pull attention away from EU.
Completely agree. I really like Avengers Campus in DCA but even I felt it needed more attractions (which it's getting). I feel it's very easy to build an Avengers Campus (esp one that avoids marvel characters at Uni) even tho I think they will get the rights back anyway. I also realized EPIC and this supposed big announcement to steal Uni's thunder is that Thunderbolts* opens the same time which would give Bob the synergy he craves as you would have theaters, parks, and business all at once for a single IP. Also let's address something, there are very few IP's worth the investment of AC other then Marvel and other billion dollar IP's like Zootopia.

Disney has historically been averse to building a full ride (much less multiple rides) based on a television IP.
Aside from Gadget's Go-Coaster (which still has Rescue Rangers theming even though it's "Chip and Dale's Gadget Coaster" now) and Mickey's Runaway Railway. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Phineas and Ferb got a ride when the new season is released.

That would be the best thing ever!

Amazing we still don’t have a duck tales ride but we’re discussing Fortnite land as a possibility.

There was that planned Disneyland Ducktales ride to replace Car Toon Spin during the Toontown remodel that almost happened a few years back but got canned for COVID cuts. Scrooge & Donald are obviously evergreen so wouldn't be surprised if a similar concept eventually returns down the line.

Don't see where it would fit as well in WDW as in their Toontown however, unless another Toontown is made. GFT also kinda covers for Donald for WDW.

I would rather a ducktales ride be a new build but yeah any ducktales ride would be awesome. Also what’s gft?

They're not going to build a ride based on Phineas and Ferb or any other Disney Channel IP. They don't have nearly enough popularity compared to other IPs that they have not yet used in the parks.
As previously stated they almost made a ducktales ride in California. Now I don’t think one is on route any time soon but popularity doesn’t seem to be an issue when it comes down to it.

Phineas and Ferb is... plausible. They still like to market that show, even giving it a continuation almost a decade after it ended?

I don't even know why we're talking about this though, there's no way any of this stuff is ending up in AC.

Unless it is.

Eh, I don't think it is. Its popularity (or perhaps more importantly, its merchandise potential?) is far, far behind other unused Disney IPs. It just doesn't have a fanbase remotely large enough to be worth an attraction (other than maybe some kind of small flat ride). That has nothing to do with quality, though; just a reality of TV vs. their large assortment of unused movie hits.

The show has a huge fandom and it has transcended the popularity of your standard kids show. Even the people at my job who couldn’t care less about the “stereotypical Disney stuff” all know and love it.
