They really do. I hope I get over the bad aesthetics when I watch it next week.
Just so I understand how things work, since they are cgi it’s ok to call them dwarves right ?

Thanks I thought it wasn’t acceptable for some reason.Dwarves is a perfectly acceptable term for real, live people with dwarfism. Little people also works.
Actually, that form of the plural is reserved for Tolkien’s creatures. The normal plural is “dwarfs”.Dwarves is a perfectly acceptable term for real, live people with dwarfism. Little people also works.
I’m not sure what you’re getting at. I have never said it would be offensive to have dwarfs in the film, though I do think the views of people with dwarfism matter more than mine in this regard. I personally don’t think the CGI route was the best; it doesn’t really skirt the issue (they still read as human little people), and the results look bad.Just so I understand how things work, since they are cgi it’s ok to call them dwarves right ?
In what way were her comments taken out of context? To reiterate: the rage at Zegler began because of her race. Her comments about the original film, taken out of context, were amplified because of the rage based on her race. People are free to criticize her comments. They are not free to rewrite the history behind the hate campaign against her.
If this board is meant to stay apolitical (an impossible goal in any case), why is this nakedly political topic allowed to fester?
Do the elfs on the shelfs dressed in festive leafs know the correct plurals? They await hearing the hoofs of Santa's reindeer on the roofs each year.Actually, that form of the plural is reserved for Tolkien’s creatures. The normal plural is “dwarfs”.

My initial reply to you was deleted, so let me try again:
Yes, that's it. I'm not sure what else Disney could have done anyway. As has been pointed out to you multiple times, Zegler is not a regular employee, but an actor under contract who had already completed the job. There were no practicable measures the company could have taken against her at that point.
I don't put much stock in what celebrities say. I'm much more concerned about the words and deeds of those who have an actual impact on our lives.
What did she say that you thought was crazy?Wow what can you even say about this level of crazy.

I’m not getting into this it’s not the place. What did she say that you thought was crazy?
You seemed to have no trouble calling it crazy. When she makes sensible, kind remarks people discount them.I’m not getting into this it’s not the place.
I didn’t say you. I just thought I heard people saying they should be called little people.I’m not sure what you’re getting at. And if @Casper Gutman is to be believed, "the most powerful people in the nation" are the people commenting on celebrities.
Yes because I believe they are crazy. I know you are smart enough to realize not everyone thinks like you.You seemed to have no trouble calling it crazy. When she makes sensible, kind remarks people discount them.
I believe “little people” is the preferred term, and it’s the one I would ordinarily use.I didn’t say you. I just thought I heard people saying they should be called little people.
It was just a question I honestly didn’t know.
What was that poll?According to recent polling the vast majority of people do not think like you.
