Breaking: Bob Iger single-handedly shuts down fireworks with sci-fi knife switch while twirling his mustache forcing the cancellation of the show as visiting orphan children burst out in tears.Saw this thread pop up and thought maybe there was some interesting news. Oh well lol.
When I was there in late February, there were indeed taken in and out.I'm still very happy that the car wash barges are gone, but I thought the plan was for the Luminous barges to be taken in and out of the lagoon like they used to do with the Illuminations ones. What happened to that?
Potential weather also impacts it. They don't want to be docking, connecting the cables and positioning all the smaller barges while its raining. When I was there in late February, there were indeed taken in and out.
Insiders have mentioned that it sometimes doesn't happen for technical reasons (having to work on the barges while they are out) and operational (the park is slammed and they don't want to disrupt the crowds with blocking the bridge crossing).
They did it every single day with the globe. They can do it now with the barges. When I was there in late February, there were indeed taken in and out.

There were instances were they were left in the lagoon for illuminations, but would agree I bet luminous barges are left out more often than ROEThey did it every single day with the globe. They can do it now with the barges.
Sigh.......Rollseyes.......Breaking: Bob Iger single-handedly shuts down fireworks with sci-fi knife switch while twirling his mustache forcing the cancellation of the show as visiting orphan children burst out in tears.
Luminous requires the bridge to be raised twice and each time for a longer duration than ROE. If park attendance is going to be above a certain threshold the barges are left out overnight the night before to avoid the operational impact. They did it every single day with the globe. They can do it now with the barges.
In my opinion the "ops is slammed and does not want to disrupt the crowds" is a bogus excuse. They did it for Illuminations for literally decades. Usually between 1pm and 3pm well before WS was at its daily prime. When I was there in late February, there were indeed taken in and out.

As I said. It has everything to do with the operational guest impacts of raising the bridge. Yes they did it for illuminations but Luminous takes significantly longer than illuminations and they have to do it twice. On a moderately busy day it creates problems. In my opinion the "ops is slammed and does not want to disrupt the crowds" is a bogus excuse. They did it for Illuminations for literally decades. I am sure that is THEE reason they say, and I get Luminous takes longer then Illiminations, but the reality is it's probably just a show standard today's WDC does not believe is worth the hassle and man hours anymore .
If they just didn’t care, then they wouldn’t do it at all. The fact that they do take it in and out on some days and not others would indicate that there is some other reason besides just not wanting to do itIn my opinion the "ops is slammed and does not want to disrupt the crowds" is a bogus excuse. I'm not arguing with you. I'm arguing with themAs I said. It has everything to do with the operational guest impacts of raising the bridge. It’s significantly more hassle and requires more man hours to leave the barges in the lagoon. They would rather bring them back to the marina.

. I'm still not sold, But I'll concede the point. Having said all that I'm not hugely offended by the presence of the barges. I actually wasn't one of the ones that was super passionate about the harmonious Taco bar just ruining the view. They did But it didn't ruin my time at Epcot.
While I am not impressive with the rapid fire tower... I think it's too low and not big enough to appreciate, it's is a small part of what is, IMO, the most fire powered finally of a all of Epcot night time shows (sans NYE, 7/4 and Holiday Tag). For those that know, is Luminous still doing good in popularity? I do wonder how many would rather have Harmonious back, using the existing infrastructure, if the option was there.
How would harm on these barges work? It was a clipshow. For those that know, is Luminous still doing good in popularity? I do wonder how many would rather have Harmonious back, using the existing infrastructure, if the option was there.
