I don't understand why they love going with the Meh look for shops and hotels now. This is very bland with no theming at all. Very similar to the Communicore Hall

What is with the complete aversion to hardwood lately? It's not like it's out of style—not that it should matter in a themed environment anyway, but the point is that it's difficult to even frame as an update more suited to contemporary tastes.

And even if there are operational reasons for using tile, there are some pretty good wood look tiles available.
