Yes, but they do care about capacity. Why not delay Villains 6 months? It’ll cost more to run.Cheap to run, but even cheaper not to run!

C'mon they aren't closing Muppets to save Operational Costs. Not just a 3D show, tons of AAs that have been kept in remarkably great shape - the penguins, Statler & Waldorf, Bean Bunny, Swedish Chef. Not to mention, Sweetums is an entertainment cast member. This will look phenomenal on a spreadsheet.
I hope you can hear the deep disappointment dripping from my tone
Theres no need to close it so early when there’s a bunch of other work to be done.C'mon they aren't closing Muppets to save Operational Costs.

Maybe we should wait to see what actually happens in June and July before we can make that call.
That's when I always assumed it was coming.Could this indicate they plan to open Monsters in 2028? If they start building the coaster soon that may be possible
I wouldn’t be surprised if at destination d23 they announce a bluey overlay of Disney junior dance party with it closing at the same time as rock’n’rollercoaster this fallI think we can see the plan come together.
-MV3D
-RnR (get on it now gang)
+Villains
+Mermaid
Adding temporary capacity elsewhere was always the move here I guess in hindsight.
Also a more demand M&G likely coming:
+Bluey (I think)
-Olaf (I think?) or Disney Jr.
I wonder how much of the theater is getting redone. I could see it getting partially gutted and rebuilt. And obviously new curtains. It'd make sense to start the build in the back with the coaster, yeah?
Another thing with the theater show is the fact that it'll (likely) be done in house by Pixar, along with (possibly) needing AAs made, they definitely don't have a film or AAs for this prepared, so it's not like they're going to rush to open the theater show first. Just feels like an odd move unless they're doing this just so they don't have to pay the staff and Sweetums actor there sooner for budget cuts?
Then Cars 2029 Villains 2030. There're already falling behind schedule for this 5 year plan, or Josh got ahead of himself at D23 and jumped the gun. That's when I always assumed it was coming.
TA - 2027
Monsters - 2028
Maybe this could be where concept art for the theater show gets showed off.I wouldn’t be surprised if at destination d23 they announce a bluey overlay of Disney junior dance party with it closing at the same time as rock’n’rollercoaster this fall
I'm assuming they are closing the area now because it's part of the project timeline, not because it's saving them operational costs. It'd make sense to start the build in the back with the coaster, yeah?

I was assuming Cars and Monsters are both 2028 with one being Summer and one Fall.Could this indicate they plan to open Monsters in 2028? If they start building the coaster soon that may be possible
Probably because thats where Harry Hassens is going and it needs a more extensive rebuild that Pizza Rizzo, which is in all likely hood a basic overlay on what is staying a pizza joint.I'm assuming they are closing the area now because it's part of the project timeline, not because it's saving them operational costs.
We all hoped they would stagger in phases, but this is not exactly Dinorama and Dinosaur in terms of proximity.
They are closing all of Grand Avenue in June. They are also shutting down two restaurants and a quick snack/beverage location which do generate revenue.
Mama Melrose for whatever reason is getting a head start.
I've always thought that because of the proximity to the coast that Mama Melrose's could close early, keeping only the front half of Muppets Courtyard open. Such a shame that it's only for an extra monthMama Melrose for whatever reason is getting a head start.
That's right. The one month is the story to me.I've always thought that because of the proximity to the coast that Mama Melrose's could close early, keeping only the front half of Muppets Courtyard open. Such a shame that it's only for an extra month

Far be it for me to defend Disney, but they always announce stuff on Fridays.Just realized they probably released it today on purpose. Friday on trumps first week in office. They wanted to bury this headline. How slimy.
Thanks for compiling that, interesting to see.Because I was bored I did some checking, and MuppetVision is getting a much longer "Last call" period than many of the other recently replaced attractions-

I guess we'll have to see if DINOSAUR, TTBAB and RNRC continue the trend for longer farewell periods
It is the classic bad news Friday drop - we've seen it many times before.Just realized they probably released it today on purpose. Friday on trumps first week in office. They wanted to bury this headline. How slimy.
Because Villains will drive attendance far more than a 30+ year old 3-D movie.Yes, but they do care about capacity. Why not delay Villains 6 months? It’ll cost more to run.
