Where is the GCH lounge going? I don’t know the hotel well enough but I’m concerned it’s coming from what is currently a guests common area?

Even with curtailed menus, I've still had better luck/greater consistency with Napa Rose than, say, Carthay.

I'm hoping the refresh doesn't ruin the theme and perhaps leads to an improved menu with more options.

This is more of the strategy of completely leaning into the high-end "premium" offerings for higher margin guests.

They don't want affordability and accessibility, it's all about extracting maximum and having offerings for their highest margin guests. It's the same completely sustainable strategy that's worked very well for them in Florida.

The few times I looked into going I wasn’t crazy about the menu but I’m sure at least one of those times was before Covid. Steakhouse 55 was more my style if I was looking for a nice meal. I still don’t understand why the DL hotel doesn’t have one signature restaurant. A cafe. Somewhere to sit down and get a turkey club and fries. Anything.

Yes on the villas side. Still haven’t tried it. Just weird the hotel doesn’t have one nice indoor restaurant or cafe.

Nah, that place didn't make it through the pandemic. Now it's Calaca Mamas Cantina (Mexican restaurant).

I haven't tried it, but as I understand it its pretty good and they have huge margarita's.

I haven't tried it either but I people who have tried Calaca Mama's and enjoyed the food and the margaritas. Hopefully it breaks away from the Captain Kidd's curse.
