Tonight we were at the Christmas party for the firm Carolyn (DWifey) now works for, at a posh place in downtown Austin.
Unfortunately, I took no food pics, as Carolyn is new there, and I didn’t wanna’ be “that guy”…!!!!!
Anyhoo, there was no main meal, but a lot of smalls (and an open bar ).
All of it was so good, but the standout for us were the “crab hush puppies”…I could’ve eaten 50 of those things alone, but, again, I didn’t wanna’ be “that guy”…!!!!!

I don’t drink like the youngsters do anymore, and many of them were feelin’ pretty good by the time we left, but they all, fortunately, got there, and left, with either Uber, Lyft, etc.
Way smarter than us (as in me) way back in the day…!!!
Fortunately, Carolyn doesn’t drink much, so she’s my designated driver, and we don’t hafta’ pay anyone for a ride home.
Only one of the many, many, many reasons, I’m positive I chose wisely…Carolyn, not so much…hey, I tease because I love…!!!

Anyway, we met some really nice people in the firm that she hadn’t really met yet, and we had a great time…Christmas/Holiday cheers to all…!!!

(Yes, I’m still feelin’ it a bit…!!!!! )

We have sleet and freezing rain here all day. We're supposed to get up to a quarter inch of ice. Too bad this wasn't yesterday, or we would have gotten a snow day.

We watched it last night and enjoyed it. It won’t be in my top five fave Christmas movies, but it certainly wasn’t as bad as the reviews made it seem.

Mike doesn’t refer to me as his DD, so much as a “cheap date”. Same sentiment - he doesn’t have to buy me drinks, and no paying for a cab or an Uber home.

We also had our work Christmas party yesterday. It was a late lunch. Also no pics, because we are brand new with this builder.

It was a sit down affair - antipasto, deep fried creatures from the sea, an absolutely gorgeous salad, all served family style; and then the individually plated pasta (penne a la vodka) and the main was grilled veal chop, a grilled lamb chop, veg, and a few roasted potatoes. Espresso or cappuccino followed the meal. If you didn’t guess tiramisu for dessert, you didn’t pick up the Italian vibe I was putting down.

It was very nice, and we were home by 6:00 in time for a lovely little day-off nap.

We had freezing rain earlier this week. It was brutal. Mike fell three times - once where he really hurt his hip and elbow. Sigh.

Give me a sec and I’ll convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit for y’all.
