No but a cast member told me they thought it would be announced after the Poly tower officially opens/start selling.Has this been confirmed from Disney at all?
IMO it is by design over charge = empty rooms = convert to DVCThe reason they converted cash rooms to DVC at WL is because they couldn’t book those rooms.
Nope.I have no idea, but does Disney really need more room capacity DVC and or traditional?
If they want to keep DVC running then they “need” to always have at least one resort in active sales.I have no idea, but does Disney really need more room capacity DVC and or traditional?
Anecdotally we've heard that DVC occupancy is typically quite high at most resorts.I have no idea, but does Disney really need more room capacity DVC and or traditional?
Exactly, yes. Most DVC decisions, including the FW cabins, make sense when viewing through this lens.Disney loves to build DVC’s and if non DVC owners want to drop in they are welcome to pay the insane nightly rates. It’s a win win for Disney.
They did the same with AKL. I believe AKL was first though. The reason they converted cash rooms to DVC at WL is because they couldn’t book those rooms.
This summer it was not. Like it was alarmingly bad at the lower demand resorts. SS, OKW, Kidani, and surprisingly BLT.Anecdotally we've heard that DVC occupancy is typically quite high at most resorts.
Poor training IMO, cranes fly south for winter and nest in the WDW bird sanctuary, the CM should know thatI asked a WDW Manager about the cranes as I pointed to them, and he said "What cranes?" -- LOL.
Exactly this! If we're lucky we might get a Bambi topiary out of this. It'll only last a year or two before it gets removed but at least it'll be there at opening. Can't wait for them to decorate the lobby with.......posters of movies that take place in the woods.
They REALLY nailed it at the Riviera with those French movie posters.........![]()

Regarding the hotel side of the conversation. This just occurred to me, are these the first deluxe cash rooms Igers tenure has ever added to WDW? Please fact check me, I might be forgetting something.
We seem to have been only slowly reducing them for the last 20 years and shifting the guest mix towards value with art of animation juicing that pool and even some moderate reduction occurring with Riviera and the Cabins.
Maybe we don’t need them? But this begs the question, how horribly did Eisner overbuild hotels if the mix was this bad? We talk about how hotels drowned Euro Disney all the time, but did he also kind of screw the pooch at WDW? The counterpoint is Iger perhaps failed to continue to expand to fill them.
Reflections doesn't sound interesting to me at all, and I'm not sure what other add-ons they can build before 2042. The only deluxe without a DVC side now is Yacht Club, and that's probably because of space available and the convention center. I guess we could get the rumored replacement of the Contemporary south wing. I wonder if they have considered turning some or all of a moderate resort into DVC.
