It's been proven several times that even when a leak gets out, Disney likes to change their minds. Sometimes at the last minute.

I'm not sure it directly supports Monsters going into AC as much as something big going into AC. They may have realized that short of a Little Mermaid land in AC, it makes sense to relocate the entrance regardless of what they use AC for. I think Monsters could still go into Muppets if they want to use AC for something "bigger"

So some people like @ToTBellHop (im too lazy to find the message through the hundreds of pages, sorry. Correct me if im wrong on this) have said even post monsters, there will be space in A.C. For future expansion. I wonder if the “Simpsons and zootopia are fighting it out” rumors are still true? I personally prefer Springfield, as i feel it would add a greater variety to the types of properties and tones represented (also im biased as a huge fan of the show lol) . I do feel, unless a dark horse ip comes in, its gonna be zootopia. That movies about to make a kajillion dollars at the box office.

I don't get why would ever even consider The Simpsons as a Disney Parks franchise... they now own it, but they also own literally hundreds of their own IP that are not currently represented in the parks... And IP that are on-brand for a Disney theme park... Simpsons is not and never will feel like a Disney brand.... It feels wrong for the parks and is still being used by Universal..... It would be the worst brand to bring in while other truly Disney IP are not used at all.....

For me, my main hope with the monsters land is this:
- the ride is not under 30seconds
- the get the restaurant (which is pretty much confirmed)
- unique merch at the gift shop
- connects to sunset in some way
- has different areas, just like how Galaxy's Edge has the city and the outskirts, I hope monsters has the factory area, the city area, and if we're lucky some type of MU area/ackowledgement
- feels finished but also has room for expansion wether it be a second smaller dark ride like at DCA or a new land to be built behind and connect to RnRC
- And finally, please, please, please bring in Randy Newman to do the music for the land/ride!

btw now that it seems settled this is gonna be AC and not muppets can we please get excited for this, as someone who grew up with this film and thinks Hollywood needs more lands I think it is an amazing thing we are about to get and am cautiously optimistic

Weird they’re calling it Mike and Sulley’s Flavors of Asia.

If I had to guess, it’s because the Asian audience is more connected to characters in movies, rather the details within the movies? In other words, they like fluffy cute characters (hence the rise of Duffy and friends across Asia).

That's a great point. How insulting would it be if Simpsons got an attraction at Disney World before, say, WALL-E?

I assure you the IP can’t feel insulted. And I find the prospect of the Simpsons as distasteful as anybody, but you need only look at Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, or any of the partnerships/acquisitions during the early days of MGM to see that line skipping is not an issue for the people making decisions.

While we old heads won't ever think of The Simpsons as Disney, it's clear that Disney wants us to. The Simpsons has basically always been on the Carousel every-time I've opened Disney+ since it's launch 5 years ago, and they have just released their 9th Disney+ exclusive Simpsons Short most of which feature other Disney owned characters. They've had Simpsons panels and costumed characters at the last few D23s, other than Avatar and the film rights to the X-Men/FF nothing from the Fox Acquisition has been more thoroughly put under the Disney banner.

I would be not be shocked if The Simpsons appear in a Disney Park to some degree once the Universal Contract is up here in a few years.

Yeah Simpsons is no more risqué than any live-action sit com that targets adult or even family audiences. I think it gets more attention just because for a while people weren’t used to seeing cartoons act like real people, but now when you have Family Guy, Rick and Morty, South Park, etc, The Simpsons is extremely tame by comparison.

Most episodes even end with nice messages that I actually feel support the Disney brand.

IMO, a Duff Brewery experience (near but outside the parks) would be a plus for Disney— somewhere that Dad’s can chill while teens are hanging out at the parks. I’ve always enjoyed the Simpsons Land at USH and would be fine with it coming to DHS/DCA. I would not welcome it at the other parks.

No more irrelevant than Aerosmith or Twilight Zone. I have no issue with the Simpsons in MK. The parks don't have a theme anymore. Put the top characters in the top park. Add in a Duff brewery and it's perfect.
