The Cars announcement received a very tepid response from the crowd.

terrible presentation management. he buried the lede that it isn't a clone of radiator springs. and managed to dis frontierland at the same time, by trying to make the "frontier" an idea vs the specific feel of a historical time and place. everyone was holding their breath

I’m a little confused by Cars in Frontierland. Maybe Frontierland-adjacent? Time travel? Let’s see what they do.

I think he explained it well. Frontierland is evolving and about exploring new frontiers and not specific to a time frame. It’s a change to what we are all used to but the concept makes sense and the ride looks fun. I’m choosing to be optimistic on this one.

The interesting theory being put out on Twitter - that second Cars ride will be a de-facto replacement for the Tomorrowland Speedway. That does open some possibilities, one day, MAYBE.

- I would assume the other attraction to be an adaptation of Luigi's Rollicking Roadsters.
- I think a big reason for a worse sounding crowd pop was sequencing of announcements. Saying you are going to build a Door Coaster is a step away from saying you're building Fire Mountain, Jolly Holiday... that is a titanic shock.
