Is it me or was NYE Countdown better than Harmonious coreography?

For once I have to say the tacos and the portal put on an enjoyable show between the fountains and the imagery? Those fountains were sharply choreographed and something I would expect from show hardware like that. Notice the lights didn’t kill out the fountains and they ran off the actual fountain lighting and it looked great. They can do so much better with that hardware. I was impressed and saw them do things I didn’t think they could do. Don’t get me started on all those fireworks and the shells they used, really shows how sloppy and cheap they are with Harmonious. I think Harmonious needs a new soundtrack and reprogramming. If anything they really need to re-choreograph those barges. You could make a mean Illuminations with that hardware.

I was actually quite disappointed watching the NYE show compared to Harmonious, felt rather meh. As for reprogramming Harmonious why, it seems very popular with paying guests according to many on here?

Yeah but there’s always room for improvement, really liked how the synced the lighting and the fountains.

Indeed. It appears they've built it with the capacity to chop and change things as they require. I genuinely think Harmonious is great and can't wait to experience it in person this March. I've got to say the NY fireworks at Epcot were disappointing. I think it was because much of the show was each country doing their fireworks one at a time and it just appeared very lackluster show. Only towards the end did it pick up and just felt a bit of a let down.

It was basically the same New Years tag it always is. I expected more now that they have the Harmonious equipment, and the fact they just presented the tag instead of a full show was cheap in my opinion. Everyone was going on by how great it was, just because the finally 20 seconds are explosive doesn’t mean it’s a great show.

It’s like Fantasy in the Sky at Magic Kingdom where they revisit an old show. This is a revised version of the original Illuminations but over the years they have changed allot of the music and they don’t do the entire show. Nowhere near as much as they do at the Magic Kingdom.

No your right, they shouldn’t have just done the tag. I think it’s because of the launchpads where Illuminations had its own barges but at the same time they reloaded illuminations and did it all over again so who knows.

I was there NYE, but didn't stay for the midnight fireworks. If I can just give my 2 cents. I haven't been able to visit Disney for 2 years due to Covid and border closure. I have been coming for at least 20 years and LOVE the fireworks that Disney puts on. However, after seeing Harmonious for the first time, I turned to my wife mid-show and said "this is the first time I'm finding myself wishing for the show to end" She agreed. We both couldn't figure out what the theming of the show was about. Unlike Illuminations. The ending of Illuminations when the white fireworks came out always brought a tear to my eyes and a feeling in my chest. I was bored with Harmonious. Wish I could have stayed for the midnight fireworks as they're my favourite, but the wife was tired and wanted to leave. Maybe next year. Glad to hear that at least they haven't changed that part.

The NYE celbration looked awesome. 3 DJ ares, multiple firework celebrations, the show...... We are booking it for next year as soon as possible

Was it me or does she not know how to count at a per second interval?? that was the slowest 10 seconds of my life.

So I had to time it, it actually took just shy of 21 seconds to do a 10 second countdown. Hmmm
