What did you do?

Today was 2mi, 1 1/3@7:30, 1/3@6:57, 1/3@6 all@1i.

That's exactly my plan. My knees feel fine today and I plan to do a very easy 4 mile TM run tonight or tomorrow morning. (Couldn't run outdoors without Yaks right now and probably for awhile after all the slush on the ground yesterday froze into an ice skating rink last night.) I wasn't really avoiding too much snow the other day as the main streets were mostly down to the blacktop, and even if I had, it seems strange that I would've injured both knees so severely and so exactly the same. I'll report back on what happens when I try the inserts again. Nice workout you had today.

Don't you just love trying to run during the winter? Probably why my only outdoor run for a while has been on snowshoes.....

The roads have been a bit too icy for me the last two days so I finally got out today for 4 or so miles. The first two miles were miserable, everything was tired and breathing was hard, but somehow around mile 2 I got my second wind and flew the rest of the way. Definitely glad I stuck it out, if I had an easy out I would've taken it no questions asked.

Trying to race plan for the rest of the year and I am getting excited about getting back into a regular routine.

Speed work today. 2mi@1i, 1/2@6:27, 1/4@8, 1/2@6:27, 1/4@8, 1/2@6:27 with w/u&c/d. Thinking about kicking the incline up another notch to do more work in the same time since I can't seem to squeeze that extra 8 minutes out in morning anymore.

I think I'm falling apart. My shoulder rotator cuff is killing me from all the snow shovelling. My knees are still irking me a little since I wore those shoe inserts although not nearly as bad. And yesterday when I finished my 4.5 miles on the TM, I started having pain in the ankle I had surgery on 12 years ago and it's feeling weak and unstable. The balls of my feet feel sore. ? I'm not going to run for 2 or 3 days to see if I can pull myself back together!
(Post-Thought: I wonder how many miles I have on my running shoes. I think it's close to 700. Maybe that's it!)

I hope it's just the shoes! I need a new pair and I've only got 380 on mine.

9.1 miles this morning, it was cold but nice an clear.

@JillC LI - I hope a new pair of shoes helps you out. Taking a break is never a bad thing if your body is calling for one.

Today just over four miles at an easy pace. Still feels nice to get out there just can't wait until my legs aren't so dead each and every mile. I have been mixing in some cross training which has been working muscles that I don't usually feel when running so I have a feeling this new muscle fatigue isn't helping my case right now but will hopefully payout in the long run.

Counted up and I had 633 miles on my old shoes. Switched to a new pair this morning (the last in my stash of a type that Nike stopped making -ugh- but that's another story). Did 6 miles on the TM with them this morning. Body is still achy but knees and ankles are not any worse so we'll see how it goes. Thanks for your thoughts guys.

Sat was 5k on the TM, 1.5i, 1@7:30, 1@6:57, 1@6:24, .1@6:00 followed by a 5k on the bike. Sun was another 5k on TM, 1i all at 8, wasn't feeling it. Yet more snow today, so cranked out another 1 1/4@1i, 1/4@6, 1/4@7:30, 1/4@6, 1/4@6:57, 1/4@6 and then scurried to deal with the weather.

Yoinks. Switch the shoes out and do some cross training.

Planned to do 4 on TM last night, but knees were hurting so I cut it short at 3.5 miles. Probably should have cut it short sooner, but I am too stubborn. Still feel a tad like my body is falling apart, new running shoes and all.

Don't remember if you mentioned it, but have you talked to a doctor? That doesn't sound good. Maybe just take a week off? I took two weeks off and I'm feel like I'm back at full strength. But then I'm not doing Dopey mileage.

Thanks. I actually made myself an appointment with a specialist for next week. I have a hunch what might be wrong with me, but I am hoping I am wrong. I will let you guys know when I know more. I will be very happy if the answer is just to take two weeks off.
