@Gabe1 since i have not the experience at vast building projects.. i will defer, though working in and around community building and large contractors building tract housing, that more money(people) does not make anything move much faster that it is running at the time.(back to the tripping over each other thing)

As I stated in a previous post I come from a contracting business family. This project is huge. It could be making progress if they put workers on each of the individual project or more than two or three. They have at least 25 workers on each of the Poly's water DVC units in the water. In 4 days they went from a flat pier to 4 sides and a roof on each of the individual units.

Nobody can tell me that if they put three workers out on the pier that in 4 days progress like that would have been made in under a week. It doesn't work like that. Disney didn't just work on a small fraction of a park when they built the parks, they had huge crews working on most of them all at the same time. This piece meal little bit here, little bit there with a few workers is going to make this drag on.

my god, they are really covering almost all the lake!.. :|
No the drawing (rendering?) is just really distorted from reality. The boat house restaurant's docks go out maybe 120ft from the current shoreline. basically everything else stays within the current lake shoreline. The major changes will come to the "springs" where some areas will be infilled and others dug out. Either way the area is going to be vastly different in the next year or two.

Where was/is this posted at?

I found it on one of the Disney Twitter feeds. The more I look at it I BELIEVE that is the picture that is posted on the construction wall MAYBE near World of Disney/Starbucks. (not the one of starbucks but near.) There were so many photo's on the construction walls last week it blurs together.

I just love that sentence. So true.

This is why I don't put much stock in the Disney and Fan hyped concept drawings of Avatar and the Hub. I remember the Storybook Concept drawings, they are far more charming than the end result.

Wish I could like your post more than once.

Yes, that drawing is definitely not to scale. Old school concept art.

Much like the Hub concept renderings along with Avatar. They are meant to build hype with their warm and fuzzy fairytale glow. But a quick glance at the Hub renderings and the massive shadows, the height of lamp posts it becomes very apparent these type of concept drawing are for the media to ohhh and ahhh over and too many get excited over the warmth that never materializes, in reality that type of ambiance is far easier to create with water colors.

I know what you are saying. And they are done as much for the consumer as anyone else. I don't mind however. They create that Christmas Eve type anticipation of the next morning. Personally I find that more compelling sometimes. The process is all part of the fun. IMO.

I'm all for the fun of the glow when people have a firm grasp of reality. It is when people 'believing' in the concept art as more than art and start sighting the wonders to come based off that, I loose patience with that type of naivete.

ghost trees are a hit!

How 'bout it??? Some imagineering huh? And those massive palms are in those tiny tiny skinny planters. Giggle.

remember when this was the original concept art for what became Storybook Circus?

That is why I am a wait and see kind of gal. Oddly it isn't all that different than some of the Avatar drawings I've seen. Recycled concept art.

I hear what you are saying, but the whole project changed. Pixie Hollow was scrapped for Mine Train. I don't think it's really the same thing.

The "art" part of concept art is using an artistic impression to convey a feeling or a vibe. They could just post the blueprints for the buildings, but that isn't going to excite most people. Just us:cool:

Exactly what I've said. You just so happened to pull my last post in a series.

Truth be told though, they are getting better and better at being able to do this kind of environment. Give it another decade and they will be able to "print" this out of a 3D printer.

Not likely. They will just project trees and flowers. ;)
