Re-Do: The Movie Edition

I figured I’d do this one before Disney messes it up. Hercules is probably one of the most underrated movies of the 90’s. It’s got everything in it, action, comedy, romance and a slew of very catch tunes as well.

I think you've gotta get Danny DeVito back as Phil. It's hard to imagine anyone else as the character.

I totally see where you're coming from. He does look more like the character than Peter Dinklage.

But there's 2 major reasons I couldn't go with him. He's just too old (79) and he's no longer seen as a serious actor anymore, like Peter Dinklage. If I had a 3rd reason, it would be escapism, it would be harder to get lost in the movie, because you'd be thinking of the past version. You'd just hear his cartoon version's voice and your inner voice and thoughts would remind you of it.

Not to get off track, but I think the Hunchback was way too Broadway.

Setting aside your all white Little Mermaid alternative casting, Hercules is being developed as a Broadway musical. The lead will be an African American man.

Disney often does color blind casting nowadays.

I like to base my decisions though on how the characters actually look in the Disney animated versions.

They've definitely got the looks and singing abilities, but they have probably aged out of playing Hercules.

Gotta love Patrick Warburton. His voice has become iconic in Disney attractions and definitely in toons. My favorites are Venture Bros, Family Guy and of course Emperor's New Groove.

I'm surprised they haven't done Princess and the Frog in Live Action. With the new ride, it seems like it makes perfect sense.

Will Arnett would be a good Hades. He's done a lot of bad stuff, but I usually like him in whatever he's in. Even in those silly Geico commercials.

Usually when people bring up Will Ferrell they say the star of Step Brothers, Anchorman, Talladega Nights or Blades of Glory. I don't think anyone eeeevvvverrrrr has brought up Lego Movie. .... Except for you, LOL.

Most of the castings look good indeed. Even though I agreed with it earlier the only one I'm not sure of is Mr. Warburton, because he's pretty old. I'm not sure if he can get into Zeus type shape. I'm 24 and I can't do it. lol

Great and Powerful voice though, maybe they can throw a toga on him. ha
