Hello!

First off my thank you's to people will be held at the very end of my report. So if you feel like you should be thanked for something, or shown my appreciation for something...you're going to have to wait a while. Nobody cares about you anyway.

Secondly, I used the up-loader on this site for my pictures and it kind of did a number on them. Once I get everything situated with a photo hosting site this will continue. Thing that sucks is all those sites are blocked through my work computer so I am going to have to actually do this on my on time and not works time.

*Warning*

What you’re about to read are my thoughts and feelings from my most recent trip to Walt Disney World. A lot of sarcasm and pointing out the moronic things other humans do…along with their rudeness and pure oblivious behavior to others around them will be written here.

If you put kids on your shoulders to watch fireworks, leave messy food trays at tables or other places other than a trash can for someone else to clean, take flash pictures on or in “dark attractions”, stop in the middle of rows to sit down, talk during shows, pull that metal latch on the hotel door so it stops your door from closing and you continue to open your hotel door and let it slam shut 20 times in a row at 7am and other dumb inconsiderate things…you MIGHT not want to read this.

If you enjoy sarcasm, “decent” photography, food ography, side stories, pictures of people dressed “special”, and most of all ME!!! Then you are in the right place.

Swear words might be abbreviated. I may think that things YOU do are ignorant and inconsiderate to others around you. Please don’t be offended. LEARN from it. Don’t cry about it. I am not going to argue with you or justify why you should be beat with wet dish rags because you like to hang out and talk with other guests in your party in doorways leading to the entrance/exit of an attraction or the middle of stairs. There is just no hope for you.

This report is made to be funny. It is also made to be serious and informative as well. I don’t have ANY behind the scenes knowledge but I do feel like I have a pretty good grasp on how to have a pretty great time in Disney World and where you should eat delicious food.

I take a TON of photographs and I work rather hard to get good photographs not only for myself but for all of you to hopefully enjoy as well. I pride myself in taking awesome food photographs. I like to feel someone responsible for the big “boom” on this around here.

When I first started planning Disney Trips on my own I always wanted to see what the food looked like before I arrived. There was really NOWHERE to find it. So, I said to myself “Take pictures of EVERYTHING you eat and see and post them to help other people in the same boat as you.” I am a picky eater, which is why this was important to me. I hope along the way I have helped some people out. I hope this report does too. I took 3,444 photographs on just MY camera alone!

This trip is two years, well it WAS two years in the making.

The cast of this trip my fiancée Colleen and me.

Here I am...

...and the much needed couple post...

ALS_02.jpg

We knew we were going to, and when we were going to go but we booked it for real in April. That was the deadline so that we could do our 180+10 dining reservation thing.

We booked All Star Sports Resort arriving on October 9th and departing October 23rd! I missed the big turf field and being able to go out there and throw football after a long day of Typhoon Lagooning, Dining and Park Hopping. But that plan would soon crumble just like most of our plans this trip.

After calling and speaking to Disney World for what feels like 80 times checking for further discounts on the Cast Member plan never ever never once did they mention to me “Oh by the way, the food court at All Star Sports will be closed during your stay.” I had to accidentally find out about it on here.

So now we are faced with our first “White People Problems” of the trip.

Stay at All Star Sports and use Movies and or Music Food Courts?

Or…

Try for Art of Animation or Pop Century which we both hated on a previous trip?

We ended up at Pop because Art of Animation was booked solid. We figured we could walk across The Generation Gap Bridge and eat at AoA because that was really the only thing that appealed to us about staying at AoA in the first place. So here we are now at a hotel we both really did not want to stay at. We are 3 months out and we are already switching things around that we really did not want to switch at all. We almost considered spending more money and staying at Port Orleans or Caribbean Beach. It just did not make sense because we do not spend a lot of time at the resort, or so we thought…

About a month our from our arrival date I got an email asking if I wanted to participate in testing for Magic Bands. Umm, of course I do. You just made me feel really important by sending me this email. So we selected our colors and a day later we got these via UPS!

ALS_1379.JPG

A few days later our Magical Express packet came.

Now all that is left is our trip. No more ADR’s, no more waiting for things in the mail…the next big step is near.

ALS_1380.jpg

Day 1 10/9/2013

Finally…The day has come. Up at 3am, well alarm is set for 3am. We don’t have to leave until 4am. I think we dragged ourselves…yes we still had to drag ourselves out of bed knowing what was waiting for us a few short hours away. I think we left the house at like 4:15am for the 25-30 min right to Pittsburgh International Airport. Pretty weird that it’s 25 minutes from Pittsburgh though. Oh well.

We got to the airport checked our bags got through security all less than 10 minutes. Our gate for Air Tran was as far away as possible. I never have been that far back in the airport. The funniest thing I noticed at the airport is that it was 5:20am and Quaker Steak and Lube was about to open up. (Skip ahead 15 days) We passed it again when we returned home at 9:50pm and they were closed. That is pretty weird.

(Back to present time)

It is now time to board our flight. Our flight was pretty full. Normally our plane is half full but there were not too many seats open on our plane. AWESOME flight though. No bumps or dips at all. We arrived at MCO in about 1 hour and 50 minutes. 25 minutes earlier than posted. Sorry no airplane pictures. It was dark the whole time and then nothing but clouds. We came out of the clouds and landed 5 minutes after.

I know where I am going once we get off the “monorail” at MCO but it always strikes me as odd that they have pretty much zero signs saying where to go to check in for The Magical Express. Oh well…good thing I am not new at this. This is really all the help you get, but it is down on the bottom floor when you should pretty much already know where you are going!

Then at the 2 mile point we saw this...

Day 8 10/16/2013

We are going to Epcot today. We are going to meet a friend of mine from a LONG time ago who took his family and moved from Pittsburgh to Orlando. Lucky dude…

We got to the bus stop and there are 3 ECV’s waiting with families totaling in the numbers of 15 combined. Yeah…okay.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea or vibe from me here, and I have actually explained this 8 zillion times but I will explain again.

I do not have issues with the process of boarding people with ECV’s on the buses.

What I do have an issue with is the “gang” that gets to tag along. I am sorry I know it MIGHT be your family vacation but a group of 8 people should not get to board a bus because 1 person in their group is in an ECV. You can disagree all you want and feel like I am wrong. I really don’t care. There is my opinion and there is your opinion. That doesn’t make either of us right or wrong. This is just how I feel and I think it is insane. 8 people don’t have to all be on the same bus traveling together for every single bus ride. If there is a long line of guests waiting allowing 8 guests to board along with an ECV guest is nuts. Let alone 3 ECV’s and 15 other people traveling with them. That is over half the bus once seats are cleared for the actual ECV’s themselves. That is before even one person in their party sits down.

There has just got to be a better more efficient way that is fair for everyone waiting for that bus and allowing 18 people to sit and clear room for 3 ECV’s in my opinion is not it at all. If they want to go on a ride or attraction together, I am fine with that. But if your group is going to all sit on the benches and wait for the bus then get up and get in the ECV line…Why do I even have to explain why this is messed up?

Anyway…after waiting for a second Epcot bus to come, then a 3rd because of the line that was originally there and the ECV’s and their tribal unit…we are on our way.

Plan is to get to Club Cool. Colleen has been obsessed with this place all week. No idea what is up with that but I told her I am going to take some pictures of Spaceship Earth. I also took some along the way though…

We went over to Soarin’ to grab some Fast Passes because we had 25 minutes to kill before our ADR time of 12:30pm. We got through Innoventions and Fast Passes were GONE. That is soooooo weak. Oh well, can’t do anything about so we headed back towards Canada.

We met up with my buddy Dave and his wife Emily outside of Le Cellier and headed on in to be seated.

This was their first time eating here so I was pretty excited for them to try The Filet.

Dave ordered some kind of drink sampler. No clue what it’s called or what it is. I don’t drink so my only interest in it was getting it’s photo…

Here is our Pretzel Bread…

Emily had The Roasted Range Free Chicken…

DSC_2118.jpg

I finally broke Colleen and got her to eat some meat (ummmmmmm)…Her, Dave and I all had The Mushroom Filet…

DSC_2120.jpg

For dessert Colleen had The Trio of Chocolate…

DSC_2122.jpg

I had my trusty Chocolate Moose…

DSC_2123.jpg

Dave really enjoyed his filet. Good thing cause I have been telling him for YEARS how good it was. Emily agreed that she should have got the filet…and Colleen in typical fashion said it was not worth it for her to break her vegetarianism. Nobody likes her anyway.

We decided since it was close and probably had minimal wait that we would check out O’Canada…

Day 8 10/16/2013 Continued…

I now had a date with Mexico. I was here a few days ago trying to get pics inside and it was just miserable for me. This one turned out a zillion times better…

DSC_2221.jpg

I needed to eat more now. Australia was coming up quick and that was a place on my list to try! I wanted the Grilled Lamb Chop with Mint Pesto and “Potato Crunchies” which were crushed potato chips.

DSC_2225.jpg

DSC_2227.jpg

Wow, that was REALLY good. Oddly those “Crunchies” really added something nice to this. The meat itself was already tender and good. The toppings just helped. I definitely recommend anyone at Food and Wine Fest in 2014 try this if they have it again.

Next stop was Terra. Colleen got some Fresh Watermelon Juice. No pictures. But it was in a clear solo cup and it was pink in color.

Another stop for me now.

Scotland!!! I love salmon so this was on my radar since I saw pictures and the menus.

DSC_2229.jpg

It was pretty good. Nothing GREAT but very good. Honestly if you like buttery and REALLY buttery mashed potatoes (which I do) then the potatoes will probably be your favorite part of this. It normally comes with Cauliflower Puree but I was not trying to hear that nonsense and got the MP’s instead. Good job on my part.

We have some time to kill before our Test Track FP’s. So I just took some pictures of good ol Spaceship Earf…

This is one of my favorite pictures from the trip. To be honest I was just trying to get a picture of Colleen walking towards me without her really knowing. I definitely succeeded in my goal. I also captured her essence and just how much she can REALLY upset people. I mean…just look at the people to the right, and the hairy dude on the left. They look so angry with her. I obviously had no idea that was going on until I starting editing.

Oh but look…she still has the cup from her watermelon juice in case nobody believed me that it was clear!

We decided to check out Universe of Energy because we still had tons of time before our Test Track FP’s.

Here comes The Monorail!

DSC_2263.jpg

So some moron decided to bring a baby (who was already crying) on this ride after 6392 warnings about how long the ride is. So rather than sit and watch the show…we got to sit and listen to some baby cry because his father is dip stick. Again the stupidity level of people never fails. The only thing worse than the baby crying was the idiot father going shhhshhsshhhshhhhh the WHOLE time along with the crying baby.

After that mess was over we used our FP’s on Test Track and then headed over to The Land to use our Soarin’ FP’s.

I mean…why not stop at Sunshine Seasons first though for some snacks, right?

Colleen decided she wanted a Bran Muffin for some reason…

DSC_2266.jpg

I decided on…

DSC_2267.jpg

AND…Crème Brulee.

DSC_2268.jpg

Crème Brulee was decent. It is WAY better at Tony’s and Wolfgang Puck Express.
After Sorain’ we rode Living with the Land. I had no intentions on shooting Illuminations because I am really not all that familiar with the show but I start feeling all guilty for some reason when I don’t. There was NOWHERE to stand to get good shots so I just jammed myself against this wall in Canada and did what I could.

I want to stuff that cupcake in my mouth right now. I love me some Creme Brulee and eat as much of it as possible on our trips. Crying kids during shows are so whack, get the kid out of there stat...so rude! We have always taken turns taking our crying kids out when we are in those shoes; I shouldn't really say we take turns...my husband usually gets stuck with that task.

How can you NOT be fascinated by the Disney World Turtles?

DSC_1133.jpg

After lunch we decided we would just go back and hang out in the room and lay around or watch TV until dinner time. I think we both sort of his a wall and raised a white flag in rushing to the parks. We both knew what was in store for us regarding the crowd levels. I don’t think we ever really got used to it at all.

Well now it is time to go to the bus stop. We have to head over to Magic Kingdom and hop the Monorail to The Polynesian. Anyways before we get there…We are waiting in line and there is a man in his ECV. Bus pulls up. Bus driver lowers the bus, walks to the middle of the bus and lifts a row of seats up, puts his key in and lowers the ramp. All normal so far. Well the man in the ECV then begins to try and get on the ramp and he can’t line it up right. So what does any person in one of these things do? HE COLLECTS THAT ACT OF GOD. The man gets off of his ECV and drags the damned thing onto the bus, into its position, buckles all the straps and sits down in a regular seat.

UN-FREAKING-REAL

Look I realize not everyone in those things is faking, or completely helpless and unable to walk. Some folks just can’t be on their feet for long periods of time. But if you’re in one and you get off of it and drag it up a ramp and onto a bus…that is just bananas and makes you look very suspect. Get off the thing and ask the driver of the bus for help.

Aint The Polynesian awesome?

I think the best reaction to the scenario you described (with the ECV passenger leaping off of it to drag it aboard the bus), would have been to throw your hands in the air, jumping up and down and screaming, "Praise Jesus! He has been HEALED!!!!!" Then you could have led the bus passengers in a rousing chorus of, "Just As I Am, without one ECV..." :)

I still can't believe I saw that. Every trip I see someone in one of those things do something more crazy from the year before.
