so if that other site is correct, along with replacing the Peter Pan sequence with Pirates the loud canon blast was also eliminated but instead Barbossa replies to Mickeys question and then the pirate segment begins.

I hate the sound of that, the loud canon blast was always a peek for anyone watching Fantasmic. the transition going from one seen to darkness and then a Huge canon blast always got everyone attention. Also sounds like none of the projections on ship have been showing during rehearsals and only a simple lighting package has been shown on the ship. I really hope that they figure how to eventually implment the projection mapping. I think that is probably the main reason that a change to pirates was so intriguing

And the Latina blogger whose take on Hispanic offerings at Disney parks is to point out that Disney parks is great for families and somehow... only the Hispanic culture treasures families?

I went back and looked and found the writer you are talking about. Oh... my... gosh. What a weird nightmare, with the dropping random Spanish language words into the text that is otherwise 99% English language.

Of course, I'm not Hispanic so I have no idea what it's like to value my family like a Hispanic person would. As a non-Hispanic I barely have human emotions, after all.

Who the heck thinks this is a good idea? And what people do they think are actually buying into this corporate pablum?

"On paper, the changes seem sure fire—freshen up an aging favorite by simply swapping in new sequences of wonder, while retaining the basics of the show’s structure and soundtrack. But because people loved the early incarnation so dearly, the familiarity only served to remind them how much better the original version was."

All but officially confirmed, yes. Staff is scheduled and plans are in place to invite D23 attendees on saturday.
Can you tell us anything about the Pirates effect? Are they still working on it? Will the show premiere without it? Will they inplement it later after they get it to work? Has it been abandoned entirely? Are these reports of it not working exaggerated?

Sorry - I haven't heard anything about the pirate projection effect this week. If I hear anything I'll put it here!

I assume they'll do the fastpass as well for the non D23 guests just going to the park since the ones going the Parks Panel tomorrow are getting them.

When I was at #Disneyland tonight I spotted this new #Fantasmic merch. Rumors of a Fantasmic surprise during tomorrow's d23 parks panel?

Well kids, TONIGHT is the night.
Tonight, all our curiousity will be put to an end when the Show is finally revealed ( barring any tech or performance mishaps ).
Interested to hear the feedback from the fan community at large once it's 'out there'.

Anyone trying to get into the Park tonight to see it - good luck.
Seriously, I wish you luck as it is going to be a absolute sardine can of chaos.
So many things combined together ( D23 Expo FP crowds, general Summer crowds, locals/bloggers wanting to 'be first' to see and report it, etc ).
Looking forward to the reports in how it goes....hopefully no news reports regarding the mayhem of people trying to get in the gates!

People are probably already trying to 'claim their spot' now...once the Park opens.

It's gonna be crazy tonight. The Columbia is in the Mark twain dock with its black sails for the PoTC scene

Actually scratch that. It looked liked it had black sails from a distance. It's still white sails but it does have black rope riggings which I think didn't had before
The Pan segment used black riggings as well, but they would prepare any of the particularly noticeable riggings after Columbia ended it's ride day.

Forgive me since I don't know the little workings of F! Do we need black sails for F!?? Were they just for Pan's segment or some safety thing? Since no guests are on the Columbia/Twain until the 29th, what time today might we see F!'s set up?

On my last post I actually took the black sails thing back. It looked liked it did because I saw it from the Hub.

The set up will probably occur at the normal time (4-5) depending on what time the crew is scheduled to come in

I'm trying to figure out the logistics of tonight if the D23 rumour is true. Does everyone with a Fantasmic fastpass get entry to Disneyland? Are they shuttling people over? It seems like it'll be chaos if they give everyone a fastpass, and that would mean to me they are guaranteeing everyone entry to Disneyland.
