According to people seeing the clip at D23 it is indeed cgi
Now if only we could see a clip, or even a teaser clip.
So far a clip has been shown of Moana (as a toddler) collecting sea shells, and the ocean literally parting itself for her so she can easily collect the shells. In this film the ocean is a character as in many cultures the pacific ocean is treated as an entity that has a spirit. From what people are saying the animation is breathtaking.
Her rooster's name is Hei Hei, and her pigs name is Pua. No word on who is playing Moana just yet.
I loved Paper Man, it looked great.
From Inside the Magic -
Renowned directors John Musker and Ron Clements (“The Little Mermaid,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Aladdin”), and producer Osnat Shurer shared early test footage and revealed plans for the film’s music.
Tony-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, Grammy-winning composer Mark Mancina (“Tarzan” “The Lion King”), and Opetaia Foa’i (founder and lead singer of the world music award-winning band Te Vaka) are working together to help tell the tale of a spirited teenager who sets out to prove herself a master wayfinder.
Following a tear-jerking clip from the film, Foa’i performed a bit of the movie’s music.
“Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
I love Lin-Manuel Miranda! It's exciting to see the next generation of Broadway starting to work with Disney.
Lots of pictures
Woah that's epic looking
Just a taste -
And I've been thinking it's pronounced Mo-na this whole time.
nope it's pronounced Moe-ah-nah
Yeah, I got that from the video
Some folks just have to have all the answers, flounder .....
Anyway, looks like this could be a huge hit for Disney. Can't wait to see ( and hear)more.
I was genuinely just trying to help mr ichabod.
I am pleased that Disney didn't get lazy and tweak Rapunzel's design like they did with Anna.
