Martin clarified that there will be three other AA's, they just won't be humanoid.
I have a spare disco ball for when they stop working and don't get fixed.

I have seen reports of yes.im just curious if there was any new pics from the land during the presentation?
well dang it @Rteetz you re supposed to find themI have seen reports of yes.
well you re the best in the biz so i have complete faith in youI haven't found them yet
That's unfortunate, if true. While that may be in keeping with the Avatar backstory, that really only matters to Avatar fans, which I don't expect to be the majority of visitors. The "simulation of a simulation" conceit is the main problem with Mission: Space, in my opinion. The additional level of abstraction tends to reduce immersion. So it's sounding like the story of the ride is that you are riding a banshee simulator instead of it actually riding a real banshee.
So were just ganna skip this animatronic

I don't know if that would've been allowed.I really wish someone would've recorded and shared the entire hour-long presentation.
I haven't found anything yet but apparently they showed a construction time lapse video.well you re the best in the biz so i have complete faith in you
I think people are being overly critical without knowing what the real concept is for Flight of Passage. The way I interpret the info is I think we will be riding an "actual" Banshee in some regard, an animal trained by ACE to carry humans. But that the headgear and such is presented as being a way for us to virtually experience the connection to the animal that the Na'vi guide leading our expedition does via their neural ponytail thingee.
Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm angry about this or anything, I save that for when they destroy Epcot's potential. It's kinda clever really, a creative solution to a theming problem that relies on the actual backstory and mythos established. Iger never said anything factually incorrect, but he made us think he was saying more than he was. I'm impressed really, but it also means we can't trust anything he or Chapek say. What you hear is never going to be what they mean, and they're very good at saying things you think you want to hear. For those of you who are calling the ride "cheap" and "lame" and Iger was "lying",
you are comparing what was in your head to . . . . what we still don't know.
Did you think you were going to individually ride a fully animated AA? All by yourself?
I wish we could see what was shown. We don't know . . . what we don't know.
They showed some art/diagrams that I think explains how they will achieve the "riding on a living banshee" thing. To me it seemed like you will straddle a kind of teched-out seat that has been (in story) developed as part of the Avatar program. You'll wear a set of goggles (looked like an enhanced, maybe active 3D headset that may also have speakers?) that will let you see what your Avatar sees. My guess is they may employ a lot of in-theater and seat based effects to give the illusion that you're also feeling/smelling whatever is happening to the Avatar. That's how you'll "feel the banshees breathing". Well played Iger, you lied without lying.
I believe that this one is new:im just curious if there was any new pics from the land during the presentation?
The pic I just posted show 3 Navi in the scene, but we all know concept art can be deceiving.I don't like being negative, but I'll be the first to say it... I'm betting this is the only full-size animatronic we're getting.
I would love to be wrong...
It's not.I believe that this one is new:
I think you are thinking of this pic:It's not.
