AVATAR land - the specifics

where do you see it because I dont
I'll agree with this, I didn't see them and I was staring at this thing like crazy this morning, transfixed by the large number of, shall we say, interesting plant shapes

I think I need to talk to my shrink. I guess sometimes a Pandoran plant is just a Pandoran plant.

Look at the circled spot clearly...the location seems to match with concept art below to the far right.

The one thing that I have been attempting to rectify are the little "people" in the art. I have re-watched the Avatar video released at D23, and the figures in that model do seem smaller than those in this latest photo. These figures are also clearly different as the ones in the video are colored to appear more like actual people as opposed to these.

The depth of detail, though, is amazing in the floating mountains. Was there ever any indication as to how high the floating mountains were going to be?

From the looks of it I'd say they will be pretty life size....no idea on exact height but the center one definitely looks to be taller than the show building in the background.

There was some discussion yesterday starting here

Though despite my complex technical analysis, I guess I'll go with what was pointed out to me that Disney has said: 143 ft tall.

Maybe they realized 143 isnt doable and we re getting more around 100

I'm still going with they didn't pay any attention to the size of the human figures in the model. Or, not super close attention. If the figures should be 4" tall and they wound up 6" tall, I'm sure that isn't a big concern. They are mostly trying to see how all the actual brick and mortar bits are going to fit together. I did hear rumors that Mr. Staggs and Mr. Hormay are going to be shrunk down exactly to scale so they can review the model. Mr. Rohde is very upset that he wasn't chosen.

Can they still do this? I thought they shuttered the technology around 2007 and replaced it with places to watch cooking demonstrations.
Several members of the audience never got enlarged. Back in aught 07 someone stepped on what they thought was a giant American cockroach, but when they turned their shoe over to see tiny Mrs. Davenport from Bridgeport, Conn., the you know what hit the proverbial fan.

One other minor landmark that might help people with the layout, in the high-res photo of the model you can see what is most likely the attraction entrance and wait time signs at the base of the right vertical mountain support (partially obscured by the hill in the foreground).

DaMouse has a super-res version of latest model pic:

What's interesting about this larger version is one can see just how much the pic has been doctored in Photoshop, particularly the upper right quadrant (in lavender sky color). Maybe to keep from revealing the main showbuilding facade...

Wow, tons of photoshop tomfoolery in there. Lots of cloning n' such, especially on that back distant wall. Don't trust your eyes, folks!

I took the little blue guy in the center and cloned him upward. If we assume he is 5'8" tall, then the top of the pic is 80 feet.

Well to me Diagon Alley is the best most immersive themed land I've ever been in. This looks like it can beat it.

I think this is going to be amazing. The problem is the lack of attractions/rides. If they had built some sort of coaster or ride where you're outside flying through the trees, I think this would have topped it. I'm sure the simulator will be great and the boat ride very beautiful, but it's missing that big attraction that I think most of us assumed they would have built.
