Thankfully, it’s always 75 and sunny in Florida so there’s no problem when the only places to eat are like 5 outdoor tables or an astroturf lawn.
Imagine telling a Poly guest to just walk over to the Grand if they wanted somewhere inside to sit and eat.

This is true, but Boardwalk is meant to reflect classic 20th century boardwalks, like Atlantic City in its heyday. It doesn't fit the theme, nor is it appropriate for a Deluxe resort, imho.

Dolphin had Cabana's open until 8pm, The Fountain (which is indoor) open until 11, and Picabu (indoor) open until midnight. Not 100% ideal for those coming from boardwalk, but if staying at the Dolphin I was happy with the options and it's not a far walk.

That's what gets me about this whole situation. When they've had to close Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian, they don't just plop down a food truck on the lawn and call it a day. It would be an egregious violation of the theming of the resort.
The last time Gasparilla's closed, all the other restaurants stepped in to fill the gap. It's worth noting that that's GF's only QSR, unlike Boardwalk which does have the pizza window and that snack kiosk across the way from it, so if anything, they have even less of an excuse for a food truck.

Boardwalk Deli is not open late night, and it also has no place to sit...Like the Pizza Window. And no, there are no places to eat late night at the other hotels except one place at the dolphin...And that is just a counter service place...
So I stand by that statement.

I still think the boardwalk should have a late night diner, but just FYI the fountain is and TS at the dolphin. Picabu which is open even later is a QS, but actually has some pretty good food and a lot of indoor seating.

How are you getting Boardwalk for $350 a night?? Thats AoA prices! Also I'm not defending Disney, I 100% agree they need to add something. I'm just trying to give advice for someone looking for decent food after 8pm while staying at the boardwalk.

For three games this season, the Somerset Patriots will pay homage to one of the sacred spots of their home state.
On June 8, July 26 and Aug. 11, the New York Yan- kees Double-A affiliate will take the field at the TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater as the Jersey Diners. Next year the Patriots will assume the alternate iden- tity for more games, Hal Hansen, the team’s senior di- rector of sales and marketing, said at a breakfast Tuesday for season ticket holders at Park 22 Diner in Green Brook.
“We’re still the Somerset Patriots,” he said.
Teams assuming alternate identities have been a growing trend in Minor League Baseball.
“Alternate identities are one of the great things about Minor League Baseball. It gives us the opportu- nity to have fun and be creative while celebrating our community,” said Patriots Co-Chairman Jonathan Kalafer. “Diners are a special part of New Jersey cul- ture and resonate with the Somerset Patriots on a lot of levels. They too are family businesses that are often a setting for family and friends to spend time together. They also tend to build their business on customer service and value.”
Other Minor League teams in the Eastern League have also adopted alternate identities, Hansen said. For example, the Portland Sea Dogs are also known as the Maine Clambakes, the Binghamton Rumble Po- nies are the Shortcakes, and the Akron RubberDucks are the Sauerkraut Balls.
The switch to the Jersey Diners, co-sponsored by a producer of a unique New Jersey diner specialty, Tay- lor Pork Roll, will feature merchandise and other diner specialties, like disco fries and Happy Waitress plat- ters, in the concessions at TD Bank Ballpark, Hansen said, adding more details will be coming.
The Jersey Diners jersey is neon blue with the main logo across the chest with pink piping. The numbers on the back are pink with a white outline. The sleeves have pink and white checkers as well as logos featur- ing a drawing of a vintage diner boxcar on one side and a Patriots secondary head logo on the other with the Diners’ color scheme.
The Jersey Diners will wear a tri-color hat – blue, pink and white – with a coffee mug mascot on the front.
The logos were created by Ryan Foose of Fooser Sports Designs with a classic diner feel. The main logo incorporates the exterior of an old-fashioned diner with “Jersey Diners” in pink script.
With opening day just more than 70 days away, Hansen said the team is “super, super excited” by the introduction of the alternate identity which took 18 months to develop.

Minor league ballparks have the “same vibe” as diners, Hansen said, because they are “a comfortable place to go” where you feel at home if you’re at the ballpark or at one of New Jersey’s 500 diners.
“We are excited to rebrand as the Jersey Diners for a few games this season,” said Patriots President and General Manager Patrick McVerry. “Diners are such a special part of the DNA of New Jersey. When we de- cided to move forward with our first full rebrand, it made a lot of sense to do something that resonates with so many people throughout our state. Playing as the Jersey Diners is a true representation of this area and an identity we feel everyone will want to get be- hind.”
In a letter, Gov. Phil Murphy congratulated the Pa- triots on making the move.
“New Jersey prides itself on being known as the Diner Capital of the World,” Murphy wrote. “As Gover- nor, I commend the Somerset Patriots for recognizing the importance of diners in the Garden State, and I thank all who continue to support these local family- owned businesses.”

LOL I know about the $350... I was afraid if I put $525.00 That then it would become a battle of price comparisons missing the point completely...lol I know we can walk over to another hotel, but they have the space and there is certainly the need for something better. Last time we used the Pizza window (I admit it was a few years ago) we placed our order through the app and was told to arrive for pickup literally over 2 hours later... When we got there we were told to wait another half hour....which we did...When they called us up, we were told that we could now put our order in...and the wait for completion would be yet another 45 minutes... At this point it was after 10pm, we had been waiting since around 8:00.
We had a long talk with the MOD, and magically our pizzas showed up moments later... But the whole ridiculousness of the service, the lack of a place to sit to eat (the other tables were taken with people hanging out) made us absolutely certain we would NEVER use the pizza window again...like ever. They need to have a better option....and the boardwalk was full of people from all the hotels there on Crescent Lake looking for food...
