Your thoughts on Coronado Springs...

We've just been booked there for June. I've never stayed in it but have seen some nice pictures so I thought I'd ask the experts. Those who have stayed there what do you think? Is there anything I should know about it? Thanks in advanced. WDW Here I come.

We stayed at CS when it first opened and were not impressed. The pool was gorgeous but you said that would be closed when you're there...to bad. It was the best part. People were driving from the rooms to the bus stops they were so far away. Thumbs down on the food court and the Maya Grill. The room that we had was decorated with a lot or red...I HATE RED...so when I walked in the door it was instant hate. Never again. Dixie Landings forever!!! After you've been there the other resorts have a tough time living up to the expectations. The AKL was excellent. No smells...nothing but great. 6 days and we'll be at both PO and then AKL. We're splitting our trip to get a taste of everything we love. Also $$ played a part in the decision...well worth it.

You don't like red so you go to a southwestern themed resort? Wouldn't you expect a resort with that theming to consist mainly of yellows, oranges, and reds? As for the bus-stop problems, it is a fifteen minute walk completely around this resort, and there are several stops, meaning no one is more than five minutes from a stop...if you are staying at Disney World and can survive a week, five more minutes of walking will not kill you...Disney is all walking...I understand the inconvenience, but there is a lot of walking at every Walt Disney World Resort, especially at deluxes which, in many cases, have one bus stop, one boat stop, one monorail stop, etc...as an example, Polynesian...can be a LOT of walking.

When we stayed at CS we didn't know what to expect...it was new. Just thought we would try something new and it wasn't our thing. It is obviously the first visit for this person also or they wouldn't be asking about it so it's not a bad thing to receive a not so glowing report. We've been to WDW 24 times in the last 10
years and this was one of the worst for bus stop distances. You also have to understand that everyone is not in the 20's and that walking (wasting your feet) is harder for older people. I still think that the bus situation there is a poor design. I also think that CS was mainly intended and set up for conventions. Most of the convention people are not there on vacation and doing theme parks all day. When you make reservations for a resort CR doesn't give you much information to help you decide whether or not this will be a good resort for you.
