Grand Theft Auto has evolved over the last decade, each placing us and our controllable character in immersive worlds abundant with endless activities, people, and plenty of crime. Now Grand Theft Auto V is here, and to celebrate let's look back and don't forget what made us who we are today, cold blooded criminals trying to rise to the top. From the dark and foreboding streets of Liberty City, to the countryside and sparkling cities of San Andreas, and the sun tanned and neon lights Vice City, which Grand Theft Auto game has been your favorite?

Can't vote in your poll, since you didn't include GTA V. Played it almost nonstop today, and am amazed by how much fun it is.

I loved San Andres! I'm horrible at video games but my husband would play and I would watch the plot like a movie. I worked a split shift when it came out and I would spend my break just running around the cul-de-sac with a chain saw killing people and collecting money ( I don't know why I found it so amusing). My poor husband lost all his rep with his own gang but he had lots of money. ;)

One Little Spark...
III was certainly revolutionary when it came to open world play, and changed the face of gaming. But, it's not the best game of the series...

For me it was a hard choice between Vice City and San Andreas. I went with Vice City...mostly due to the music and plot (I mean, what 80s kid doesn't want to play around in the world of Miami Vice?)

It did have some disappointments though. Like, the cessna at the airport with it's clipped wings.

San Andreas was one that I enjoyed emmensly, and I think had the best plot of all three to that point.

IV disappointed me. I could never get into Nico, though I thought the spinoffs (ballad of gay tony and Lost and the Damned) were pretty fun. I just couldn't get into what they'd done with the new game engine (RAGE)...during that period though, Red Dead Redemption came out and is hands down one of my favorite games (up there with Vice City and San Andreas).

Now I've got V, and I've been playing it for a few days (can't go on a marathon...these bills won't pay themselves!)...It's great. Awesome story, interesting characters. So far, I love it. But, it hasn't captivated me the way the Vice or SA did...

Still, a huge step in the right direction. Maybe my mind will change by the time I finish the game.

3 is not the best but when I played it had a wow factor that I have not found yet in the others. There has not been a bad GTA even 2 was fun

San Andreas is my favorite (I have not played GTA V yet). I liked the story and how not only you had 3 cities but the countryside and desert plus all the mini games like basketball, bmx riding, the casino games in Las Venturas and so on.
